2022 Player Outlook

Hendriks gave the White Sox everything they needed when they signed him in the offseason as he posted career-bests with 38 saves, a 14.32 K/9 and a 0.89 BB/9. The uptick in velocity was as helpful as it was unexpected, topping out his fastball at 98 mph and adding 2 mph to his already-exciting 87 mph slider and he proved to be the most valuable reliever in the game. His dominance was never in question, nor was his job even after the White Sox added Craig Kimbrel for the stretch run and the playoffs, but if you ant to find something to criticize, he did allow a few more home runs than usual, pushing his HR/9 up to 1.34 for the season. But that comes with the territory, moving from the Coliseum in Oakland to Guaranteed Rate Field, right? Draft with confidence.
