2022 Player Outlook

If Duggar can’t stick it out in the lineup, Ruf is a player than can fill in. After spending 2017-2019 in the KBO, Ruf returned in 2020 and in 157 games since 2020 he does have 21 home runs. He doesn’t have much appeal in fantasy baseball based on the lack of playing time. He’s showcased decent discipline with and 14.7% walk rate, but strangely was also striking out 28% of the time in 2021. Ruf is better suited to play against lefties since he boasts a .940 OPS against them, but only .696 against righties. Since he isn’t a full-time player you likely will only be considering drafting Ruf in NL-Only leagues.
