2023 Player Outlook

After playing seven games at second base last season, the possibility for a larger workload in the infield is very much there, and that would be a nice boost to Betts' value. Regardless of that, it was another strong year from Betts in 2022 as he hit a career-high 35 home runs despiting batting leadoff. In fact, Bett's spot at the top of the order seemed to benefit him as he scored 117 runs while hitting a solid .269. Betts came close to a career-high in the ISO department, .264, while posting a remarkably consistent 18.6-degree average launch angle. At the same time though, it is only natural to expect a few less home runs from Betts as there was a large disparity between his SLG of .533 and xSLG of .465 which follows suit with his 30.5 xHR which is more in line with what we should look for in 2023. Everything else, 100 runs scored and 10 stolen bases, should be back again.
