2022 Player Outlook
Betts once again leads off a loaded Dodgers lineup. But 2021 was a bit of a down year by his standards. He had back and forearm issues in April, shoulder problems in May, and then he had the stomach flu in June. After the All-Star Break he suffered from bone spurs. Through it all he still managed to stroke 23 home runs, score 93 runs and swipe ten bases. If he returns to form, we know what to expect from him. If the bone spurs come back it’s possible it hinders his stolen base upside. But he’s still a great source of batting average and home runs heading into 2022. 25 home runs, 15 steals, and possibly 100 runs scored should be on tap and he’s one of the most disciplined hitters in the game.
