2026 Fantasy Baseball Player Profile

Willy Adames’ 2025 season was a historic, if polarizing, debut in San Francisco. After signing a record-breaking seven-year, $182 million contract in the 2024 offseason, Adames became the first Giant since Barry Bonds in 2004 to reach the 30-home run milestone. However, the production came with significant volatility; he struggled through a frigid first half (.680 OPS) before catching fire after the All-Star break (.828 OPS) to finish with a .225/.318/.421 slash line. While his batting average was a drain, his durability remained elite, as he appeared in 160 games and provided 87 RBI and 94 runs scored, proving to be the durable power anchor the Giants' front office under Buster Posey had envisioned.

Entering 2026, the 30-year-old remains the undisputed heartbeat of the Giants’ infield. He is locked in as the everyday shortstop, forming a high-octane "left side" of the diamond alongside third baseman Matt Chapman. With the team’s significant offseason acquisitions of Luis Arraez and the full-season arrival of Rafael Devers, Adames is projected to hit in the heart of the order, likely in the cleanup spot or the #5 hole. This positioning should maximize his RBI opportunities, as he’ll be hitting behind elite on-base threats like Arraez and Jung Hoo Lee.

For fantasy managers, Adames continues to be a "three-true-outcomes" cornerstone with an ADP around 117.
