2023 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: O’Hearn walked a career low 4.1% of the time last season but his free swinging, hard hitting (hard hit rate in the 95th percentile) profile helped him put up some of the best offensive numbers of his career. He was a part time player last season but still managed to tie his career best 14 home runs and he set a career high in RBI (60).
2024 Outlook: His inability to hit lefty pitching (.192 BAA) might limit his playing time and force the O’s to use him on the strong side of a platoon again this season but most projection models expect his batting average to be in the mid .250 range. His power is for real and depending on how much playing time he sees, O’Hearn can hit upwards of 20 home runs this season.
