Nick Anderson acknowledged after Tuesday night's World Series Game 6 loss to the Dodgers that he battled fatigue during the 2020 playoffs.

And it was evident in the results. Anderson had a 0.55 ERA and 26/3 K/BB ratio in 16 1/3 regular-season innings before struggling to a 5.52 ERA and 9/4 K/BB ratio in 14 2/3 postseason frames. He became the first pitcher in MLB history to be charged with runs in seven straight postseason appearances. “I didn’t feel as good as I would have liked to, but it’s the big leagues; you’re not going to go out and feel good every time,” Anderson said. "Not a lot of gas, (velocity) was down. Go out there and try to give everything I’ve got, and it didn’t work out." The pre-arbitration right-hander should be back as a high-leverage reliever for the Rays in 2021. Oct 28 11:33 am (EST)
