Matt Manning gave up two runs over two innings on Sunday in a Grapefruit League start against the Phillies.
Manning coughed up three hits, struck out two batters and also handed out a pair of free passes. All of the damage against him came as a result of a fielding error on an Alec Bohm force-out in the opening frame. He’s allowed one run on seven hits with a 5/1 K/BB ratio over six innings (three appearances) this spring. The 23-year-old former first-round selection will likely open the 2021 campaign at Triple-A Toledo and projects as a potential frontline starting pitcher. Mar 21 4:25 pm (EST)
