Jack Flaherty revealed Tuesday via Zoom that he will start for the Cardinals on Opening Day.
"Yeah. He told me. He should probably be the one to tell you guys, but oh well," Flaherty said Tuesday night when asked if manager Mike Shildt had officially given him the Opening Day nod. It's a well-deserved honor for the 24-year-old rising star, who posted a 2.75 ERA, 0.968 WHIP, and 231/55 K/BB ratio in 196 1/3 innings last season with the National League Central champs.
