2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: Abrams’ first full season in the majors was electric at times and frustrating at others. The combined stat line for counting stats was one of the best in the league with 18 HR, 83 R, 64 RBI, and 47 SB. The problem was the .245/.300/.412 slash line that came with it. Most of the counting stats came in the second half of 2023 with 11 HR and 33 SB in his final 70 games. 

2024 Outlook: The speed and his ability on the base paths aren’t really in question for 2024. Nor is his power. What is in question is his ability to make enough contact to be able to use his power and speed consistently. The main thing Abrams needs to do is cut down his chase rate to be able to see more pitches to hit. If he can do that, the slash line should bump up while keeping the already impressive counting stats where they are.
