Caleb Smith will be moved to the bullpen according to Diamondbacks manager Torey Tovullo.
Smith performed poorly in spring training and struggled through his first start of 2021 allowing three runs on five hits and three walks over three innings vs the Padres. The 29-year-old's poor command makes him an unattractive choice for the bullpen, but perhaps Arizona can find a way to simplify his focus to become a strikeout weapon later in games.
