UFC Fight Night: Cortes-Acosta vs. Walker takes place this Saturday from the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, with a heavyweight main event headlining the card. No. 6-ranked Waldo Cortes-Acosta looks to snap a two-fight skid against Johnny Walker, who is making a rapid climb after a successful heavyweight debut. Walker enters riding the momentum of a first-round knockout of Mick Parkin and will look to use his length, explosiveness, and unorthodox striking to overcome Cortes-Acosta’s size, pressure, and boxing.
The co-main event features a high-stakes women’s strawweight clash between Tatiana Suarez and Virna Jandiroba, as both ranked contenders aim to position themselves for a title shot.
The event streams live on Paramount+ in the United States, with prelims beginning at 5:00 PM ET and the main card getting underway at 8:00 PM ET.
UFC Fight Night: Cortes-Acosta vs. Walker Predictions
Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs. Johnny Walker
Pick: Waldo Cortes-Acosta
Cortes-Acosta has high volume and great clean striking. He needs to keep this a technical battle and not get into a brawl with Walker. He has the power to KO Walker as many before him have done, but I expect him to take a little bit before he is able to land that clean 1-2 to end Walker's night.
- Prediction: Cortes-Acosta KO -120
Tatiana Suarez vs. Virna Jandiroba
Pick: Virna Jandiroba
This will be a back-and-forth battle, but Virna has proven that she can go five hard rounds, while Suarez normally tires out after the first five minutes. Don’t get me wrong, Suarez is a great wrestler and has a decent chance to win this fight, but I believe the line should be closer to pick’em, so at a massive underdog price, I love Virna’s ability to win tight fights.
- Prediction: Virna ML +170
Davey Grant vs Elijah Smith
Pick: Davey Grant
If anyone in this fight is going to look like they should have been -1000 it will be Smith with the early finish. I just don’t see him having his way so easily. Grant is technical, willing to trade punches, and has nearly double the experience as Smith. Davey will need to wear on Smith early, but if this gets into the second round this is anyone’s fight to win, so I like the dog to get it done.
- Prediction: Grant ML 280
