All six teams in Monday’s World Cup DFS slate face far different matchups than they did in their opening games, and that has lead us to some very interesting pricing on both sites. Uruguay and South Korea struggled to a 0-0 draw, but they should find more room to operate offensively against Portugal and Ghana, respectively. Those two teams combined for five goals in their opening-round matchup, and I will be interested to see if they can have similar success against better defensive teams.

Switzerland is coming off a good 1-0 win over Cameroon but they should have their hands full against a Brazil team that is loaded with attacking talent even with Neymar out. For their part, Brazil could have a tall task fitting all of that talent together without Neymar in the middle. Richarlison is still a huge threat up top but he will likely rely more on Raphinha to get him the ball in dangerous areas.

2022 World Cup DFS Soccer Picks November 28

World Cup Goalkeepers

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Sergio RochetURUPOR42005.36910.00
Playing a keeper who is facing Portugal is rarely a good idea, but I think Uruguay may just be better than Portugal, and Rochet is awfully cheap. If Uruguay scores first, we could get a cheap win from Rochet.
Lawrence Ati-ZigiGHAKOR4600-1.6210-1.50
Finishing has been South Korea's Achilles heel, and while they will certainly generate more chances against Ghana than they did against Uruguay, I don't mind betting on Ati-Zigi to pick up some saves.
AlissonBRZSWI570011.31317.00
I think you can reasonably pivot to Kim Seung-Gyu to save some money, but If you're going to chase a win and a clean sheet, you might as well go all the way. Alisson is by far the best bet, but he isn't cheap.

World Cup Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
RaphinhaBRZSWI880010.141918.20
I think there is a good chance Raphinha takes on more of a playmaking role with Neymar out of the lineup. Brazil is never going to send in a lot of crosses from open play but Raphinha should be on set pieces with Neymar out. He has a chance to be the cheapest Brazil attacker on DraftKings, where he probably has the most value.
Son Heung-MinKORGHA96007.84165.60
It is rare for my top two DraftKIngs plays to both be forwards, but I am not complaining. Son did very little against Uruguay, but Monday's game should be much more open. I expect Korea to score at least one goal andn for Son to be involved.
Gabriel JesusBRZSWI81001.34173.00
If it was up to me, Gabriel Jesus would start on the wing and Raphinha would move inside, and they would both wind up in most of my lineups. Antony replaced Neymar for the final 10 minutes against Serbia and created one chance, but he is more expsensive than Jesus. Still, whoever starts for Neymar should be in our consideration.
Darwin NunezURUPOR71004.72161.30
He was completely bottled up against Soth Korea but I still think Nunez is Uruguay's best attacker and he is much too cheap on both sites. Feel free to pivot to Luis Suarez if you need to save $1 or want to chase a penalty. Both are tournament plays.

World Cup Midfielders

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Vinicius JuniorBRZSWI770018.82025.30
Like most of his teammates, Vinicius Junior is probably better for FanDuel, but he is also much more expensive there. He led Brazil in chances created against Serbia so I am fine paying up for him on FanDuel but he also had two crosses and four shots, and I think he remains too cheap on DraftKings. Just pay attention to the starting lineup because if it looks like he will line up inside instead of on the wing we might want to pivot to somebody else.
Federico ValverdeURUPOR660010.22138.60
Valverde led Uruguay in shots and chances created and was second in crosses against South Korea. He looks like a fantastic value on both sites in what might actually be a better matchup for Uruguay.
Na Sang-HoKORGHA36004.76146.90
He is entirely too cheap for someone who had five crosses and a chance created against Uruguay. If he just matches that stat line he would be a fine punt play but he could far exceed that production in a better matchup.
Lee Kang-InKORGHA63004.1896.00
He played just 15 minutes against Uruguay but tied for the team-lead with two chances created. He won the Golden Ball at the 2019 Under-20 World Cup and if he starts, this game could be his coming out party. This is the first game of the slate so we can easily pivot if he is on the bench, but I love the lineup possibilities for us if he starts.
Bruno FernandesPORURU860021.461924.30
I really thought he would be more expensive on both sites after his two assists on Thursday. My concerns about him being able to play with Cristiano Ronaldo were quieted for at least one day, and he is by far the safest Portugese player.
MidfieldersTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Mohammed KudusGHAKOR45005.44146.30
He was tied for the lead with two shots against Portugal while adding three crosses. He has five goals and three assists in 19 starts for his country, and his price remains low. He is a good pivot if Na Sang-Ho doesn't start.

World Cup Defenders

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Mathias OliveraURUPOR540012.881013.80
Olivera led Uruguay in crosses and was tied for the most chances created Thursday. I might try to pivot to Kim Jin-Su or Raphael Guerreiro if I needed to save some money but Olivera feels like the safest of the three.
Abdul Rahman BabaGHAKOR42005.1885.60
I am still probably pivoting to Tariq Lamptey if he ever starts, but Baba had six crosses and a chance created against Portugal. His price has risen accordingly but it is still pretty reasonable.
Kim Min-JaeKORGHA33004.8887.60
He only had one clearance and one shot against Uruguay but I still think he is a worthy punt play, especially on FanDuel. He won three of his four aerial duels in that game and I like his chances of scoring on a free kick. There is also a good chance he records more defensive stats against Ghana.
Kim Jin-SuKORGHA50009.361010.20
At some point we will need to decide how many South Korea players in one lineup is too many, but you know I love the matchup and the price is reasonable. Jin-Su had three crosses against Uruguay
Nico ElvediSWIBRZ27004.31216.70
Silvan Widmer led Switzerland in clearances and tackles+interceptions against Cameroon, but I don't want to count on that from a right back. Elvedi had six clearances and two tackles and while he may not have Widmer's upside, he is just as safe and $2 cheaper.
