One day after Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi all scored big goals for their respective clubs, all eyes will be on Romelu Lukaku, Kevin DeBruyne and Ferran Torres on Sunday. Like Saturday, Sunday does not appear to have a ton of good value plays, so we might not be able to fit all the top attackers in our lineups. There also probably won’t be as many goals in this slate, which would be an even better reason to shop for the save mid-tier players who will send in crosses and create chances.

2022 World Cup DFS Soccer Picks November 27

Goalkeepers

Milan BorjanCANCRO44002.493.50
Borjan allowed one goal with just two saves against Belgium but I didn't think there was anything he could do about the goal. Croatia generated just 0.5 xG against Morocco and I think Borjan has a good chance at a win and a clean sheet at a discount price.
Manuel NeuerGERESP46001.02101.00
I cannot bring myself to pay up for any of the most expensive keepers. I might pivot to Yassine Bounou if Romelu Lukaku is out but Neuer probably has a better matchup and a better team in front of him. I'm not sure why Neuer is cheaper than Unai Simon but I will gladly take advantage. I think the most likely outcome of this game is a 1-1 draw but I will gladly take a shot at Neuer in case I am wrong.
Forwards
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Romelu LukakuBELMOR80000210.00
He is too cheap on DraftKings if he starts. I have no idea how healthy he will be or how many minutes he will play.
Serge GnabryGERESP790013.81823.60
Gnabry did a little bit of everything against Japan with three crosses, two chances created and six shots (three on goal). If I pay up for a German attacker it will likely be Gnabry, especially on DraftKings where he is forward-eligible.
Junior HoilettCANCRO65006.88137.30
Hoilett looks like one of the safest forwards on the DK slate and he won't break the bank. It was nice to see him split corner kicks with Alphonso Davies, and he finished with four crosses and two chances created.
Alphonso DaviesCANCRO64005.921517.90
You can pivot to Jonathan David if you want to chase a goal or if you need a forward on DraftKings, but Davies is too cheap on FD for someone with three chances created. The missed penalty was a disappointment but he has done enough for Canada that he will probably still get to take the next one.
Midfielders
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Hakim ZiyechMORBEL74006.981511.20
He had three crosses and two chances created in a game in which Morocco had 36 percent possession. They will almost certainly have the ball more, and they could score a couple of goals against a Belgium side that allowed 2.4 xG against Canada. Ziyech looks like a great play on both sites.
Luka ModricCROCAN770011.84123.90
I expect Croatia to have more success attacking Canada than they did attacking Morocco if for no other reason than it would be nearly impossible to have less success. Modric had nine crosses and one shot in that game and if that is his floor, sign me up on DraftKings.
Kevin De BruyneBELMOR950011.982018.30
I regretted fading some of the best players Saturday. I'm not making that mistake again. De Bruyne isn't the easiest guy to afford but I'm going to try to find the money, especially if Lukaku sits again.
Noussair MazraouiMORBEL40004.81015.40
He isn't really a midfielder, and he is dealing with a hip injury, but I think Morocco's outside backs will have success getting forward against Belgium, and this slate is bereft of cheap midfielders we can play with confidence. Mazraoui will likely be in my DK lineups if he starts.
Defenders
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Yahya Attiat-AllahMORBEL26000.4481.30
He sent in one cross in 30 minutes in relief of Noussair Mazraoui and he could be a nice punt play on DraftkIngs if either Mazraoui or Achraf Hakimi are out with their leg injuries.
Cesar AzpilicuetaESPGER41008.71115.30
Spain didn't send in many crosses against Costa Rica mostly because they didn't have to, but Azpilicueta still sent in two along with three chances created. Azpilicueta will be in all of my DK lineups if he starts at right back again.
Richie LaryeaCANCRO44006.441215.90
You can pivot to Allistair Johnson if you want but I don't trust the center-back to send in four crosses again. Laryea led Canada with four chances created and while I would have liked more than one cross, I still think we are getting a good value in this matchup., especially on FD, where he is listed as a midfielder.
Jan VertonghenBELMOR40006.141115.40
Vertonghen had six clearances and two blocks against Canada and while they might not be defending quite as much against Morocco, I think he is safe for some more defensive stats.
