After a few days of four-game Women’s World Cup DFS slates, I was a bit concerned that we would struggle to find enough good players to fill out our daily fantasy soccer lineups for Thursday morning’s two-game slate. It turns out, I didn’t need to worry. Between the matchups, the prices, and being higher on Morocco than I probably should be, I mostly found that I had more options than I knew what to do with. Realistically, you could probably play any of Germany’s attackers in your World Cup DFS lineups, which gives you a lot of flexibility if you need to pivot from one of the players on my list. The one exception is defense, especially on DraftKings. There are a few defenders I would love to play but they are listed at midfield on DraftKings. I locked in my defenders first since there are so few that have produced for fantasy, but I’ll be ready to pivot if we get any surprise starters once lineups are announced. Let's now look at the top World Cup daily fantasy plays and DFS soccer picks on DraftKings and FanDuel for Thursday morning's matches.

Women's World Cup DFS Soccer Picks August 3

Goalkeepers

Khadija Er-RmichiMARCOL41002.1483.25
Morocco was my darkhorse pick to make it out of the group and while that isn't going to happen barring a meltdown from Germany, I think this game should be competitive. If you have to go cheap at keeper, Er-Rmichi is the best option.
Merle FrohmsGERKOR57009.91412.00
Germany was one of several favorites to disappoint in the second group game, and those teams were a mixed bag in the final game. Norway and Australia took care of business while the U.S. and Italy were arguably even worse in the third game. Germany needs a win to guarantee they advance and I think they will get it against a South Korea team that has failed to score in this tournament.
Forwards

Alexandra PoppGERKOR1100026.782246.35
Popp has scored in both games in this tournament and she scored in all five of her games at Euro 2022. She'll be in all of my lineups at least until the streak ends.
Mayra RamirezCOLMAR60008.431612.95
Ramirez is averaging three shots and three crosses through two games. That's modest production but this should be a better matchup, which provides a nice buying opportunity.
Ghizlane ChebbakMARCOL68007.291616.85
She hasn't found the back of the net yet but she is still Morocco's best bet to score. Chebbak leads Morocco in shots and shots on target, and she is second in chances created and crosses.
Klara BuhlGERKOR1020019.491926.95
I would have stacked Buhl and Popp in at least one lineup, and Buhl is certainly the pivot if you cannot afford Popp. Buhl leads Germany in crosses and chances created and is second in shots, shots on target, and goals. If this game is a route, Buhl will probably be involved.
Midfielders

Catalina UsmeCOLMAR860016.981926.25
Usme has been just as good as Linda Caicedo on DraftKings, but she is $800 cheaper. I may pay up for Caicedo in tournaments or if I need another forward, but I suspect Usme's ownership will be lower.
Fatima TagnaoutMARCOL45004.541311.55
Tagnaout has seven crosses and four chances created through two games. It hasn't translated into fantasy points yet but this is awfully cheap for someone who leads her team in crosses, corner kicks, and chances created. Ghizlane Chebbak has more upside but Tagnaout is a nice punt play.
Chantal HagelGERKOR52008.511313.05
I'm shocked Hagel is so cheap. She is tied for the team lead in chances created and is second in crosses despite playing just one minute against Morocco. She may not have a ton of goal upside but she has a high floor, and she could pick up an assist. She is playable on FanDuel, where she is a defender, but I especially like her on DraftKings.
Shim Seo-YeonKORGER27000.541012.20
She leads South Korea with nine clearances. Seo-Yeon had 18.6 FD fantasy points against Columbia and this should be an even better matchup for defensive stats. Only five teams have allowed more clearances per 90 minutes than Germany in this tournament.
Defenders
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Hanane Ait El HajMARCOL38009.721426.05
I wish she was a defender on DraftKings, but she is still playable there. On FanDuel, she has a chance to provide defensive stats as well as creating chances. She assisted on Morocco's only goal in this tournament.
Felicitas RauchGERKOR380013.021112.50
Rauch did not play against Columbia, but perhaps after the way that game ended, she will be back against Korea. She is one of the rare players in the slate who is listed on defense but gets involved in the offense. If she starts, she is a must-play on DraftKings.
Kim Hye-RiKORGER49007.691214.15
The matchup is terrible, though there is a chance Germany will lay another egg as it did against Columbia. More importantly, Hye-Ri is a defender who takes most of her team's corner kicks. That is extremely valuable on DraftKings.
