PGA DFS Coverage for Waste Management Phoenix Open

It’s the biggest party on the PGA Tour and you’ve got a front row seat.  The Waste Management Phoenix Open is the one week where the PGA Tour lets his hair down and has some fun.  TPC Scottsdale plays host to the “Greenest Show on Grass” which features a Par 3 with a 20,000 seat grandstand around it.  The People’s Open as it is also known, has seen golfers shotgun beers with fans, making outfit changes, and giving free swag to the crowd.  As if this event was not enough, the biggest sporting event in the world takes place just 30 miles down the road on Sunday evening.  The Super Bowl is being played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.  It will be a wild weekend in Arizona and I can’t wait.

The Field: Waste Management Phoenix Open

We’ve got a terrific field at TPC Scottsdale this weekend.  You will see major winners like Rory McIlory, Jon Rahm, defending champion Scottie Scheffler, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Jordan Spieth, Webb Simpson, Hideki Matsuyama, Shane Lowry, and many more fantastic players.  All in all, 23 of the Top 24 players in the world will be attending the Waste Management.  There are players who really enjoy this environment at TPC Scottsdale and you’ll see them out there living it up with the crowds.  The purse size is also a drawing factor with nearly 1.5 million going to the winner.

The Course: TPC Scottsdale

It will be a nice change of pace to see just one course over the weekend in Arizona.  The golfers will be playing one track without any adjustments needed to be made.  The course is a Par 71, and it reaches 7,261 yards with around 80 sand bunkers which are placed perfectly around the greens and on the fairways to truly punish these players.  Accuracy will be at a premium which means I’ll be targeting lots of tee to green and approach players.  There are six holes with water, including three of the last four. The average winning score over the last few years has been around 18 under par which may make this course seem easy but there are a lot of holes where you could put up a big number and ruin your weekend.

The Weather: Scottsdale, Arizona

The weather will not play much of a factor at this tournament.  We will see sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-70s.  There is no rain in the forecast and the winds should top out in the low teens.  These conditions should be ideal for scoring and give these players lots of opportunities to go pin hunting.

How To Watch the Waste Management Phoenix Open
