The Tampa Bay Lightning return home down 2-0 in their series with the New York Rangers, but this series is still far from over. Andrei Vasilevskiy hasn’t been himself in this series, and he’s going to need to turn things around pretty quickly to give his team a chance to win. Can the Lightning find a way to slow down the “ Kid Line?” You can build daily fantasy hockey lineups on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo Fantasy for Sunday, June 5th NHL playoffs action. Let's now take a closer look at the daily fantasy hockey top plays for tonight's NHL DFS Showdown slate

One thing that continues to remain true in every series: You’re never in trouble until you lose a game at home. New York got the job done on home ice, and now Tampa Bay has to do the same. The Lightning haven’t been terrible so far this series, but they haven’t been able to get pucks past Igor Shesterkin very often, and that needs to change.

The captain spot in a Showdown lineup is key. You need to get that right if you want to have any chance of making some money. The easy route would be to play someone like Nikita Kucherov or Mika Zibanejad, but Filip Chytil is just too good to pass up on. He would be $7800 in that spot, which is crazy cheap and allows you to really stack up elsewhere. New York’s third line has been unstoppable in this series, and I don’t think that changes tonight.

When it comes to the rest of your lineup, we’ll go ahead and stick to the Tampa Bay side of things. The Rangers haven’t been a great team on the road and I’m really not sold that they can beat the back-to-back champions three times in a row. Steven Stamkos and Victor Hedman are good options to consider tonight because you know both players are going to be all over the ice. If you need some extra value, Corey Perry is the gift that keeps on giving. His $5K price tag is more than I’d like to spend, but he’s seeing top power play minutes and has been really good in the playoffs.

If you trust the Rangers tonight, Chris Kreider and Alexis Lafreniere are two players to consider. Kreider is a goal-scoring machine, but his shot volume is always a concern. I don’t love him tonight, but if anyone is going to score a goal, he’s a good bet to do so. Lafreniere is a cheap option to pair with Chytil. That third line has been money in the playoffs, and if the Rangers want to continue to have success, the three kids are going to need to continue their strong play.

Defencemen are going to be a big part of my Showdown lineup tonight because I think we see a ton of shots generated by both sides. Jacob Trouba blocked six shots last game and has now blocked 18 in his last four games. I can’t see a reason why anyone wouldn’t be playing him tonight. Ryan McDonagh is another defenceman to keep your eyes on. He isn’t blocking a ton of shots, but he still gets about two a game. He can also mix in a couple of shots on goal. He would need either a point or hit a bonus to hit value at his current price tag. If you need a little bit of value, Ryan Lindgren is a good option to consider. He only has one blocked shot in two games, but he continues to skate with Adam Fox at even strength and with the series now moving to Tampa, I expect him to get back to blocking over three shots a game.

We know that goalies are voodoo, but I’m having a really hard time not wanting to play Igor Shesterkin in GPPs and Andrei Vasilevskiy in cash games. Igor has been elite since the Pittsburgh series and he’s going to see a ton of rubber tonight. The Rangers aren’t great on the road, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t stand on his head and hit value. Vasilevskiy is the best goalie in the NHL, so at some point, he’s going to figure it out. He’s been giving up a ton of goals high blocker side, and I’m sure he knows that the Rangers are on to that. I’m not willing to write off either Russian netminder tonight, it just depends on how much stress you want to endure on a Sunday afternoon.
