Tampa Bay Lightning vs. New York Rangers

The Captains

Igor Shesterkin was as advertised in game one stopping 37 of the 39 shots he faced. With how well he has played we shouldn’t expect much less today.

We saw standout play from Mika Zibanejad in the first game with a goal, and an assist to go along with seven shots. He has scored a goal in four of his last five games and is a solid captain option today.

Nikita Kucherov is the most explosive player in this series and is very capable of having a multi-point game and being a difference-maker in your DFS lineup.

The Lightning have won 18 straight games following a loss in the playoffs, and a huge part of that is the play of Andrei Vasilevskiy. He likely won’t see as many shots as Shesterkin tonight, but if he gets the win that will certainly help his value.

The Rest

Steven Stamkos was Tampa’s best player in game one with a goal and an assist to go along with six shots. He is capable of having a similar performance today and is definitely worth a look for your lineup today.

Victor Hedman likely has the highest upside of any player today. He is capable of getting you multiple points, as well as lots of shots and blocked shots.

We have seen Ryan McDonagh consistently be a solid value. He is often blocking shots, and he has contributed points on a semi-regular basis as well.

As long as Corey Perry is on the top powerplay for the Lightning he has the ability to exceed his value.

No one has scored more for the Rangers than Chris Kreider in these playoffs, including a goal in game one to get things going. He has multi-goal upside and he will give him games where he gets lots of shots as well.

You could argue that Filip Chytil was the Ranger’s best player in game one, scoring two goals, and his line was a real difference-maker for the Rangers. If they continue playing well he could be a great value again today.

Adam Fox had a solid game one with two assists, but not as many shots or blocked shots as we might have liked. If the Rangers can continue to score a lot of goals we should continue to see Fox get to value.

If you’re looking to get a Rangers defenceman but you don’t want to pay up for Fox, Jacob Trouba is a good option. He doesn’t have the same upside with points, but he will shoot the puck, and block shots as well, and he will provide you with some points.
