Monday's seven-game NHL slate is loaded with top-tier scorers featuring a great matchup as Cale Makar and the Colorado Avalanche face Roman Josi and the Nashville Predators. We should expect lots of tight games with some great matchups out there, but expect some of the top scorers to shine through still. So, be sure to check in with our NHL DFS Tools, with the daily NHL projections, and our NHL lineup generator when building those lineups today to help you decide which players you should be targeting!

DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

With seven games on the slate, there should be lots of variety in builds today. The one though that will draw most people's eyes is going to be the San Jose Sharks at the Vancouver Canucks. The Sharks have struggled all season with giving up goals, and are facing a Vancouver team that has been among the top-scoring teams in the league. You will want to have some Canucks in your lineup in cash games. We should also look to buy in on Colorado today. The Avalanche have scored a league-high 5 goals per game over the last two weeks while the Predators are giving up 4.4 goals per game over the last two weeks which is good for second worst in the NHL.

Recommended DFS Starting Goalies

Top Options for Saves

Sergei Bobrovsky vs Edmonton Oilers

Juuse Saros vs Colorado Avalanche

Jonas Johansson vs Boston Bruins

Best Odds for a Win

Thatcher Demko vs San Jose Sharks

Alexandar Georgiev vs Nashville Predators

Cam Talbot vs Arizona Coyotes

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups

Igor Shesterkin, G, New York Rangers

I struggle to not build some lineups with Shesterkin priced the way he is. He has won five straight starts, the last four against good teams, and his save percentages have been solid. The Rangers are on the road where Shesterkin hasn't been as good, but he has the potential to offer you a big value at his current price.

Thatcher Demko, G, Vancouver Canucks

In a cash game, I would be tempted to build around Demko. He is as safe of a play as you will get today against the Sharks, and his ownership is likely going to be very high as well, but in cash games, those aren't really issues.

Connor Ingram, G, Arizona Coyotes

Ingram is almost the inverse of Demko. Ingram has made 35 saves or more in three straight starts, and on top of that, he has won five straight starts for the Coyotes. The risk is higher for him to get the win, but in a GPP Ingram could be a difference-maker if he turns in another great performance.

Recommended DFS Skaters

Highest Expected Goal Totals

Vancouver Canucks vs Mackenzie Blackwood (4.4)

Colorado Avalanche vs Juuse Saros (3.7)

Florida Panthers vs Calvin Pickard (3.7)

Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups

J.T. Miller, C, Vancouver Canucks

I think you can just as easily use Elias Pettersson in this spot. Both are tied for the league lead in points, both should have great matchups all night against the Sharks. I am choosing the use of Miller, simply because his cost is less.

Connor Zary, W, Calgary Flames

Zary has quickly found himself in Calgary's top six, and the top powerplay. He has four points in his last three games, and you are still getting him at a value price, so we should use him until his price inflates or he goes cold.

Matthew Tkachuk, W, Florida Panthers

I had a double take when I saw that Tkachuk has a 4.4 percent shooting percentage this season. That is 8 percent below his career average. That number is going to go up, and when it does we could see some monster games from him, especially with how much he shoots. Tonight could be that night with Edmonton going to the journeyman Calvin Pickard in goal, so I wouldn't shy away from paying up for the Panthers star today.

Cale Makar, D, Colorado Avalanche

Makar leads all players (not just defencemen) in points over the last two weeks. Match that with the Predators giving up the second most goals of any team in the last two weeks, and you have a place to start building your GPP lineups. No defenceman has more upside than Makar and he has the matchup that should have you building at least one lineup around him in GPP's.difference-maker
