Welcome to Friday’s four-game NHL Slate. We may have a smaller slate on our hands, but there are still a ton of options to choose from. We have some teams that are expected to score a lot tonight, so we need to focus on them while also looking for value. As always, picking the correct goalie will be key. You can build daily fantasy hockey lineups on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo Fantasy for Friday, January 26th, but before you build those NHL daily fantasy lineups, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS projections, the NHL Value Finder, and the NHL DFS lineup generator. Let's look closer at the daily fantasy hockey top plays for tonight's NHL DFS Showdown slate.

DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

A short four-game slate means that ownership of certain players will be high, but that means that finding value will be that much more important. Goalies are risky tonight, but we can still find one that isn’t going to let us down. We also have a slate with Nathan MacKinnon, who has become the new Connor McDavid. There are a ton of good options to choose from so let’s take a look at which players we need to be targeting.

Recommended DFS Starting Goalies

Top Options for Saves

Best Odds for a Win

Joey Daccord Vs. St. Louis Blues

Igor Shesterkin Vs. Vegas Golden Knights

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups

Joey Daccord, G, Seattle Kraken

Joey Daccord is the most expensive goalie on DraftKings but he is worth every dollar. Seattle is in the hunt for a playoff spot because of him. His team doesn’t provide him with a ton of goal support, so it is not a lock that he will pick up the win, but he’s an above-average goalie who can make saves and win a game for his team

Sergei Bobrovsky, G, Pittsburgh Penguins

We know that the Pittsburgh Penguins love to shoot the puck, but they are still scoring under three goals per game and their power play is a mess. Sergei Bobrovsky has been good this season and his price tag tonight is quite appealing. If he can keep the goals against under three and hit the save bonus, then he should be able to hit value without registering a win.

Adin Hill, G, Vegas Golden Knights

I know the Vegas Golden Knights have been struggling of late, but the Rangers have been just as bad, if not worse. New York has lost four of the last five and don’t look amazing. Adin Hill made 40 saves in his first game since December 17th and he’s more than capable of putting together another solid start. The Rangers don’t really shoot the puck a ton, so his value is limited, but his price tag and upside make him a nice option in a GPP.

Alexandar Georgiev, G, Colorado Avalanche

Let me start by saying: I'm not too fond of Alexandar Georgiev tonight. He’s 7-3-0 in his last ten games but has a 3.23 GAA and a .888 SV%. Colorado may be winning games, but it’s not because of their goalie. The only thing Georgiev has working for him tonight is that Cam Talbot has given up 15 goals in his last three starts and the Kings as a team look lost. If you want to trust a fraud goalie tonight, be my guest, but he may not hit value with the win.

Recommended DFS Skaters

Highest Expected Goal Totals

Colorado Avalanche Vs Cam Talbot (3.6)

New York Rangers Vs. Adin Hill (3.4)

Seattle Kraken Vs. Jordan Binnington (3.3)

Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups

Nathan MacKinnon, C, Colorado Avalanche

I can’t envision a world where Nathan MacKinnon is not in your line. The man has 13 points in the last five games, including a four-goal eight-shot performance against the Capitals last game. He is COOKING right now and is worth every dollar. We can find value elsewhere, but please, don’t be cheap with MacKinnon.

Jared McCann, C, Seattle Kraken

Jared McCann isn’t having the same goal-scoring season he did last year, but he still has 19 on the season and six points in the last four games. Despite all this recent success, he’s still under $5K on DK. He should be a go-to option for DFS players looking to find a player with upside at an affordable cost.

Mikko Rantanen, W, Colorado Avalanche

A lot of you like to forget about Mikko Rantanen because MacKinnon is “the guy”, but he is having another elite season. He had five points last game just like his centreman and managed to block FOUR shots. Are you kidding me?!?! Is Mikko now a shot-blocking machine??? Probably not, but if you can’t afford MacKinnon, this is the next-best option.

Sam Reinhart, W, Florida Panthers

Even when Sam Reinhart has just one shot on goal, he puts it in the back of the net. The winger is already up to 35 goals this season and could easily add a few more to his total by the end of the night. He’s in a great spot to produce against Alex Nedeljkovic.

Cale Makar, D, Colorado Avalanche

Yeah, another Colorado Avalanche to add to this list. I don’t love paying up for a defenceman, but Makar is basically a forward playing on the back end. He has 13 points in the last ten games and continues to see a crazy amount of minutes. Not only can he rack up points and shots, but he’s also willing to block shots. There are so many ways he can hit value. The only problem with him is trying to fit him into the same lineup as Rantanen-MacKinnon.

Mikey Anderson, D, Los Angeles Kings

We need to find some value on the blue line and Mikey Anderson is a great place to start. He’s seeing just over 21 minutes per night and has blocked three or more shots in two of the last three games. Considering how Cam Talbot has been playing of late, the Kings are going to want to block as many shots as possible. Colorado is a force to deal with and Anderson could easily hit value before the second period is even over.
