Welcome to Tuesday’s eight-game NHL Slate. We have a jam-packed slate with teams playing their first game post All-Star break. There may be a some players who will need to shake some rust off, but for the most part, we should see no shortage of scoring chances and goals. You can build daily fantasy hockey lineups on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo Fantasy for Tuesday, February 6th, but before you build those NHL daily fantasy lineups, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS projections, the NHL Value Finder, and the NHL DFS lineup generator. Let's look closer at the daily fantasy hockey top plays for tonight's NHL DFS Showdown slate.

DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

The first game back from the All-Star for some teams can be a challenge. The extended time off for players means that there may be some rust for the first few periods, but the elite players will just get back to dominating and scoring goals. We have no shortage of players to choose form tonight, but only certain ones are worth spending up for. Let’s take a look at the best options to consider for tonight.

Recommended DFS Starting Goalies

Top Options for Saves

Connor Hellebuyck vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

Stuart Skinner vs. Los Angeles Kings

Jake Oettinger vs. Buffalo Sabres

Best Odds for a Win

Stuart Skinner vs. Los Angeles Kings

Anthony Stolarz vs. Philadelphia Flyers

Jeremy Swayman vs. Calgary Flames

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups

Connor Hellebuyck, G, Winnipeg Jets

This might feel like a tough matchup for Connor Hellebuyck, but he could really propel your DFS team to the top of the leaderboard. The Jets will get Mark Scheifele back tonight and Sean Monahan is expected to make his debut. Pittsburgh can shoot the puck, but they aren’t scoring goals and their power play is still a mess. Hellebuyck is expensive, but he’s in a class of his own tonight.

Anthony Stolarz, G, Florida Panthers

The Florida Panthers have elected to give Sergei Bobrovsky an extra day of rest, so Anthony Stolarz is confirmed to get the start. Philadelphia has some players up front that can score goals, but their goaltending is an issue with Carter Hart away from the team. Stolarz has played well this season and can be used in all formats.

Charlie Lindgren, G, Montreal Canadiens

Get ready for the Charlie Lindgren revenge game! The former Canadiens is confirmed to get the start and you know he’s going to want to stick it to his former team. Lindgren was hit hard in his last two starts-- allowing a total of 11 goals-- but Montreal is terrible at scoring goals, and they are even worse on the road. Lindgren is another great option in all formats.

Stuart Skinner, G, Edmonton Oilers

Getting Stuart Skinner at $7500 on DraftKings feels like taking candy from a baby. The Oilers have won 16 games in a row and are showing no signs of slowing down. They are going to lose at some point, but it’s not going to be tonight against Vegas. The Godlen Knights have struggled since their hot start and are still without Jack Eichel. This won’t be a blowout, but Skinner should be able to do enough to hit value.

Tristan Jarry, G, Pittsburgh Penguins

There are a lot of things wrong with the Pittsburgh Penguins, but Tristan Jarry isn’t one of them. He’s been really good this season and he’s even better on home ice. The Penguins just don’t give him enough goal support and they are going to have quite the task tonight against Hellebuyck, but I don’t expect this game to be a blowout, so Jarry can be an option in a GPP at his discounted price.

Recommended DFS Skaters

Highest Expected Goal Totals

Florida Panthers vs Samuel Ersson (3.6)

Dallas Stars vs. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (3.6)

Boston Bruins vs. Jacob Markstrom (3.6)

Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups

Nathan MacKinnon, C, Colorado Avalanche

Nathan MacKinnon cannot be stopped; you can only hope to contain him. In his last ten games, he has 20 points and 52 shots on goal. The Devils are a mess defensively and their goaltending has been terrible. Even if Colorado is playing their second game in as many nights, MacKinnon is where I start to build my cash game lineup.

Sam Bennett, C, Florida Panthers

Aleksander Barkov is a great option tonight, but Sam Bennett is where the value is. He’s on the second line with Carter Verhaeghe and Matthew Tkachuk and has nine points in the last ten games. His $5100 price tag is also very appealing. He could very well finish with a point and a couple of shots on goal.

Sam Reinhart, W, Florida Panthers

Speaking of Sam and the Florida Panthers, Sam Reinhart is once again an option to consider tonight. He has goals in his last four games and is shooting a whopping 27% in his last ten games. We keep talking about how he can’t keep this pace up, but that’s all he has been doing. He might not take a ton of shots on goal, but when he does shoot, it’s ending up in the back of the net.

David Pastrnak, W, Boston Bruins

I’m going to try and fit MacKinnon and David Pastrnak into the same lineup, but I know it’s going to be tough. Pastrnak has 16 points and 55 shots on goal in the last ten games. We know he’s expensive, but he has earned his price tag. The Flames are not a very good team and I don’t expect them to keep Pasta off the scoresheet.

Darnell Nurse, D, Edmonton Oilers

Evan Bouchard gets much attention in Edmonton, but Darnell Nurse is the better DFS player. He can pick up points, though not as many, but he can also shoot the puck and block shots. He has blocked three or more shots in three of the last five games and is playing over 20 minutes a night. He’s also under $5K for tonight, so that is some value that will be hard to pass up on.

Chris Tanev, D, Calgary Flames

This feels like a Chris Tanev kind of night. The veteran defenceman doesn’t have the offensive upside of some other defenceman, but he is elite at blocking shots. The Bruins ar going to be shooting the puck a ton, so the game script sets up well for Tanev. He’s also blocked 11 shots in the last three games and is playing over 23 minutes most nights.
