Welcome to Saturday’s 8-game NHL Slate. This slate is loaded with some great games including Toronto vs Colorado, Boston vs Vancouver, and the always-exciting “Battle of Alberta” between Edmonton and Calgary.. The biggest favorites on the board are the Los Angeles Kings who host the Anaheim Ducks. You can build daily fantasy hockey lineups on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo Fantasy for Thursday, December 21st, but before you build those NHL daily fantasy lineups, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS projections, the NHL Value Finder, and the NHL DFS lineup generator. Let's look closer at the daily fantasy hockey top plays for tonight's NHL DFS Showdown slate.

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups

Jeremy Swayman, G, Boston Bruins

Getting the start on the road against Vancouver may be a challenge for Jeremy Swayman, but he has been fantastic this year. He holds a .920 SV% and 2.47 GAA on the year and is 7-3 in his last 10 starts. Boston continues to have the best goalie tandem in the league and shut out Vancouver in their last meeting, albeit with Ullmark in net. Swayman is 8-1-6 in road games this year and with the Canucks on a four-game losing streak, he makes a very interesting goalie on this slate.

Juuse Saros, G, Nashville Predators

Juuse Saros has not had the best season, but he draws immediate consideration here against the Sharks. This is statistically the worst season of his career, with a .904 SV% and 2.97 GAA, but the Sharks are arguably the worst team in the league. They score 2.09 goals per game and are without their best player, Tomas Hertl. I don’t love paying up for a goalie who has been so shaky, but he has to be considered in this matchup.

Stuart Skinner, G, Edmonton Oilers

Stuart Skinner has taken a step back, allowing at least three goals in five straight games while only having a save percentage above .900 once across six starts in February, but I’m still willing to use him here. Skinner is 2-0 against the Flames on the season and though they’re coming off wins against Boston and Winnipeg, they’ve also been shut out twice in their last five games. At home, Skinner holds a .909 SV% and 2.61 GAA with a 15-4-2 record and is favored to grab the win.

Nashville Predators Vs. Kaapo Kahkonen (3.7)

Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups

Nathan MacKinnon, C, Colorado Avalanche

Nathan MacKinnon is an absolute stud, trailing only Nikita Kucherov in points this season with 93 in 58 games. Sure he’s expensive, but he has one of the safest fantasy floors while also having one of the highest ceilings. He has recorded points in five straight games and has a point in every home game this season. Nate has hit the shot bonus in five straight games, and taken 30 shots over his last three games. It can be difficult to stack him with such a high price tag, but he’s so good you can comfortably roster him as your only Colorado player.

William Karlsson, C, Vegas Golden Knights

Vegas has been hit by a ton of injuries and the lines have been constantly shuffled but William Karlsson presents interesting value in this game. He’s been moved up to the first line with Jonathan Marchessault and both skate the top power play so they can easily be stacked. He’s scored a goal in three straight games and is in a great spot here as Ottawa allows the 5th most goals in the league at 3.52.

Matt Boldy, W, Minnesota Wild

This is a little risky as the Wild are on the road on a back-to-back, but Matt Boldy has been great lately. Over his last 10 games, he has recorded seven goals and seven assists and hit the shot bonus six times. Joe Daccord has been having a terrific year for Seattle, but he’s allowed at least three goals in three of his last four games, and the Wild have been clicking. Boldy is on the top line opposite Kirill Kaprizov and should be involved in their scoring chances.

Mitchell Marner, W, Toronto Maple Leafs

Mitch Marner may only have two goals in his last 10 games, but he’s tallied an impressive 17 assists over that span. Marner is currently riding a six-game multi-point streak and is helping his linemate Auston Matthews find the net almost every single night. Alexander Giorgiev may have 30 wins on the season but he still has a .899 SV% and has allowed three or more goals in four of his last five starts. Marner was held pointless the last time these teams met in January, but with the way the Leafs are scoring lately, I like his chances to keep his streak alive.

Roman Josi, D, Nashville Predators

The Predators are playing the Sharks so naturally every member of the Predators is in play today. At the top of the list for me is Roman Josi who continues to be one of their best offensive weapons. He has 52 points in 57 games while leading the team with 41 assists. Picking on the Sharks can get a little stale but they allow a league-worst 3.76 goals per game so getting exposure to someone like Josi makes a lot of sense.

Brandt Clarke, D, Los Angeles Kings

Brandt Clarke has only appeared in 11 games this year for the Kings, but the young defenseman is in a great spot here against the Ducks. He’s averaging over two shots per game and 1.5 blocks per game while skating on the second defensive pairing and second power-play unit. He’s hit the block bonus three times in 11 games which gives him some added upside, but what we know about the Ducks is they take the most penalties in the NHL. Clarke’s time on the second power-play could see an uptick in this game and the Kings have the highest implied team total at 4.2.
