Welcome to Tuesday’s eight-game NHL Slate. We have a ton of elite options to choose from, but we need to make sure that we are also targeting value. There are so many ways to build your lineup tonight, but targeting the right players is key. You can build daily fantasy hockey lineups on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo Fantasy for Tuesday, December 5th, but before you build those NHL daily fantasy lineups, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS projections, the NHL Value Finder, and the NHL DFS lineup generator. DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

An eight-game slate is on tap and we have a healthy amount of superstars to choose from. We need to make sure that we are targeting the correct players and picking a good goalie. San Jose is in action, but does that mean we need to stack against them? Tage Thompson is expected to be back, but can Buffalo score goals against Detroit? Who are the value players that we need to target? Let’s take a look at some options to build the perfect lineup.

Recommended DFS Starting Goalies

Top Options for Saves

Igor Shesterkin Vs. Ottawa Senators

John Gibson Vs. Colorado Avalanche

Spencer Martin Vs. Los Angeles Kings

Best Odds for a Win

Pheonix Copley Vs. Columbus Blue Jackets

Ilya Sorokin Vs. San Jose Sharks

Alexandar Georgiev Vs. Anaheim Ducks

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups

Alexandar Georgiev, G, Colorado Avalanche

Alexandar Georgiev hasn’t been amazing this season, but his matchup against Anaheim is elite. The Ducks aren’t a dangerous team and they are even worse on the road. Colorado should be able to dominate this game from start to finish, so I like his chances of picking up the win.

Ilya Sorokin, G, New York Islanders

The Islanders are a great defensive team and the Sharks are just a mess on the road. This has all the makings of a strong game for Sorokin, but he still needs to see enough shots to hit value. He’s a better cash game option because the upside just isn’t there.

Igor Shesterkin, G, New York Rangers

The Ottawa Senators love to take shots, but that doesn’t mean they find the back of the net. Igor Shesterkin has been really good this season and he has a chance to really exceed value. He could stop over 35 shots and pick up the win.

Phoenix Copley, G, Los Angeles Kings

I hate Pheonix Copley, but the Los Angeles Kings just don’t lose on the road. Columbus doesn’t have a great offence, so there’s no reason for Copley to not pick up the win. Can he hit value? Yes, but he’s still a very risky option.

Alex Lyon, G, Detroit Red Wings

Even if Tage Thompson does play tonight, the Buffalo Sabres are still a bad hockey team that can’t score goals. Alex Lyon has been getting more starts lately and for good reason. He’s 3-1-0 with a 1.26 GAA and a .958 SV%. He’s not going to maintain this pace all season, but right now, he’s elite and should be treated as such.

Recommended DFS Skaters

Highest Expected Goal Totals

Colroado Avalanche  Vs John Gibson (4.2)

New York Islanders Vs. Kappo Kahkonen (3.8)

Vancouver Canucks Vs. Vitek Vanecek (3.6)

Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups

Nathan MacKinnon, C, Colorado Avalanche

It’s really hard to ignore Nathan MacKinnon tonight. The Ducks started off strong but have since gone back to being #NotGood. John Gibson is once again terrible and Colorado is in a spot to do some damage. MacKinnon has a high floor and could still hit value despite his price tag.

Bo Horvat, C, New York Islanders

I don’t know how much of the Islanders I’m willing to trust tonight, but Bo Horvat is one player I’m willing to take the risk. We know he can score goals, but he hasn’t been doing enough of that this season. His shot volume also isn’t great. The good news: San Jose is terrible so the upside is there for him to do some damage.

Brock Boeser, W, Vancouver Canucks

The New Jersey just can’t keep the puck out of their own net. Brock Boeser has 17 goals this season and is in a great spot to do some damage. Vegas has the total set a 7.0 for this game, so we should see a lot of scoring chances. Boeser is more than capable of finding the back of the net and getting a healthy amount of shots on goal.

Filip Forsberg, W, Nashville Predators

Filip Forsberg hasn’t been as dominant of late, but I still love his upside against a terrible Chicago team. Arvid Soderblom is confirmed to get the start and he has a 3.71 GAA and a .883 SV% on the season. Forsberg can shoot the puck and he’s going to get his chances. All he has to do is put one or two in and we’re gold.

Devon Toews, D, Colorado Avalanche

Cale Makar is doubtful to pay tonight so that gives Devon Toews a huge boost. His ownership is probably going to be through the roof, but that shouldn’t discourage us from playing him. He’s in a great spot at an affordable price and that’s all we care about.

Ilya Lyubushkin, D, Anaheim Ducks

You all know how much I love cheap defenceman who can block shots. Ilya Lyubushkin had four blocked shots three days ago against Colorado and he could easily finish with more tonight. He’s playing less than 20 minutes a game, so that does hurt his upside, but the value he brings is too good to pass up. I’ll take his cheap salary and upside if it allows me to pay up for another elite forward.
