DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts
We only have three games tonight, but that doesn’t mean we can’t find value. The Toronto Maple Leafs, New Jersey Devils and Edmonton Oilers are all looking to close out their series, but that doesn’t mean the three other teams are useless. Yes, there are going to be some chalk options, but we can also find good value on a small slate. Let’s dig right in and build a winning lineup.

Top Options for Saves

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups
Igor Shesterkin, G, New York Rangers
The New York Rangers need their All-Star goalie to be elite tonight, because if he isn’t, then they are going home. Akira Schmid has been elite in the last three games, but Shesterkin is a good goalie. He can’t score goals for his team, but he can keep the puck out of his own net. He’s also going to face a healthy amount of rubber, so he could hit value without picking up the win.
Akira Schmid G, New Jersey Devils
In the last three games, Akira Schmid has given up only two goals and hasn’t faced a ton of action. For all the skill the Rangers have up front, the kid has been as cool as a cucumber and has given them nothing. He’s posted a combined .976 SV% in that span, so it would be foolish to think that we can’t play him tonight. New York doesn’t shoot the puck a ton, so that does limit his upside, but at $7400 on DraftKings, it’s going to be hard to pass on that kind of value.
Andrei Vasilevskiy, G, Tampa Bay Lightning
There’s no question that Andrei Vasilevsakiy has struggled in the playoffs, but when the moment is the greatest, he shows up. He was a lot better in game five and he will be just as good tonight. We know that the Leafs’ best players don’t show up when it counts and I’m fully expecting a game seven. Vasilevskiy was able to see shots last game and that was thanks to his team adjusting. If he can see the puck, he’s going to stop it.
Recommended DFS Skaters
Highest Expected Goal Totals
Edmonton Oilers vs Joonas Korpisalo (3.7)
Toronto Maple Leafs vs Andrei Vasilevskiy (3.3)
Tampa Bay Lightning vs Ilya Samsonov (3.3)
New York Rangers vs Akira Schmid (3.0)
Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups
Leon Draisaitl, W, Edmonton Oilers
The only reason you aren’t playing Leon Draisaitl tonight is because you hate money. DraftKings has moved him to the W position, but that doesn’t change much for us. He’s been playing more with Connor McDavid and even if this game is on the road, I like Edmonton’s chances of locking things up.
Brayden Point, C, Tampa Bay Lightning
We don’t think of Brayden Point as elite, but the man put up 50-goals in the regular season and has been nothing but consistent for his team. Ilya Samsonov has played well in this series, but he’s still sporting a 3.62 GAA and a .886 SV%, which isn’t very good. Tampa Bay is also operating at 26% on the power play, so if Toronto decides to take penalties, then Tampa should be able to fill the net.
Timo Meier, W, New Jersey Devils
I don’t love Timo Meier’s matchup tonight, but he’s $5900 on DK and that is just too good to pass up on. His scoring and shot totals have not been the same since being traded to New Jersey, but he’s an elite goalscorer who can do damage, so at that price point, I’ll take my chances with him as a single-bullet.
Evan Bouchard, D, Edmonton Oilers
Evan Bouchard did let us down last time he was in action, but Edmonton had a 6-3 lead and he played just 19 minutes total. His value is tied to the power play, because defensively, he’s not elite. If Edmonton can keep their feet moving and draw penalties, then Bouchard will be on the ice and that should lead to good things. Again, I’m just going to keep plugging him into my lineup because you can’t ignore Edmonton’s success on the power play, which is operating at an absurd 57%.
