DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

We only have three games tonight, but that doesn’t mean we can’t find value. The Bruins and Panthers are going to be in action tomorrow night, so we’ll focus on the usual matchups today and see where we can find value to be able to afford Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups

Antti Raanta, G, Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes have a chance to close out the series on home ice against the New York Islanders. New York’s offense is 15th in the playoffs in goals per game, so it’s easy to see why we would want to pay up for Antti Raanta. This game also has a low total and I don’t think we see a ton of scoring chances on either side. We could also see this game go into overtime, which would be the cherry on top regardless of who goalie comes away with the win.

Jake Oettinger, G, Minnesota Wild

Jake Oettinger has hit value in twice in four games, but I think he can build off his solid performance from the last game. He’s a good goalie, but his stats in the playoffs have been average. Minnesota is a hard team to predict-- sometimes they shoot the puck, and other times, they don’t-- but Oettinger is skilled enough to stop whatever shot volume he faces and I like him on home ice.

Filip Gustavsson, G, Minnesota Wild

On the flip side, Filip Gustavsson has been excellent in the playoffs and I don’t think we see him struggle tonight. He was great in game one in Dallas-- stopping 51 of 53 shots-- helping his team come away with a 3-2 victory. He hasn’t faced as many shots in the last two games combined, so that does hold his value back. I still think he’s an elite goalie who can easily steal a game for his team on the road. I also love his $7500 price tag on DraftKings.

Recommended DFS Skaters

Highest Expected Goal Totals

Edmonton Oilers vs Joonas Korpisalo (4.0)

Carolina Hurricanes vs Ilya Sorokin (3.1)

Dallas Stars vs Filip Gustavsson(3.0)

Los Angeles Kings vs Stuart Skinner (2.7)

Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups

Leon Draisaitl, C, Edmonton Oilers

Go ahead and fade Leon Draisaitl, I triple dare you! The man is just on a different level right now and he’s racking up more points than Connor McDavid for $1800 less. I know what McDavid is capable of, but on a short slate, we need to not miss with our elite superstar, and that man is Draisaitl.

Jason Robertson, W, Dallas Stars

It’s not every day you see Jason Robertson finish a hockey game with zero shots on goal, but that’s exactly what happened last game. We know the kind of skill he has, so he can easily bounce back tonight on home ice. Maybe the last game will help keep his ownership low, which would be a blessing in disguise for anyone brave enough to take him tonight.

Viktor Arvisson, W, Los Angeles Kings

The Edmonton Oilers may have shocked the Los Angeles Kings last game and erased a 3-0 lead in just one period, but they also demonstrated that they can score goals. Viktor Arvidsson is good at shooting the puck and he finished with two points in game four. The return of Kevin Fiala is a good thing because it forces Edmonton to make sure they limit him. Arvidsson is a great single-bullet play if you just want to get some exposure to the Kings

Evan Bouchard, D, Edmonton Oilers

Evan Bouchard is finally over $5000 on DK, but that’s not stopping me from playing him. He finished the last game with three points, four shots on goal and three blocked shots for a total of 34.4 fantasy points. I can’t fade him at this point because he’s just producing at an elite level. As long as he’s quarterbacking the top power play unit, he’s going to be in my lineup.
