DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

Welcome back to the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs! Vegas continues to be a big fan of the Avalanche and the Maple Leafs, with both teams having the highest expected goal totals today. The Avs lived up to that on Saturday went they last played but Toronto saw their goal production drop considerably, and I could see both of those outcomes happening again today. A third team I would keep an eye on is the Jets. They scored four times on Saturday, and they could do that again today without too much trouble, but on the flip side so could the Vegas team they are playing as this series continues to be unpredictable.

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups

Connor Hellebuyck, G, Winnipeg Jets

In the two games the Jets have lost, Hellbuyck hasn't been great, however, he has faced a lot of shots in those games. If he can get his game together tonight and he faces another 40 shots, then he could have as high of an upside as any goalie today.

Igor Shesterkin, G, New York Rangers

Shesterkin has been an absolute stud for the Rangers in the first three games of this series, and if it wasn't for some bad luck, he would have them up 3-0. The Devils are still not putting a lot of shots on goal, but that could still come, and I would expect Shesterkin to be up to the task if it does.

Alexandar Georgiev, G, Colorado Avalanche

Georgiev has really good odds to get the win today, but using him will mostly mean that you are chasing the win, as Seattle is averaging less than 30 shots per game, and I wouldn't expect a sudden outburst of shots from them, as that hasn't been their style all season long.

Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups

Nathan MacKinnon, C, Colorado Avalanche

As predicted we got a big game from MacKinnon in game three, with five shots on goal and two goals. I don't think it would be crazy to expect a similar performance from him again today, as defending champions will not want to have to play too many games in the first round if they can avoid it. I would think pairing MacKinnon with Mikko Rantanen today as a top-heavy stack could go a long way with today's matchups.

Kyle Connor, W, Winnipeg Jets

Coming into today's game, Connor has had no less than five shots in each of the first three games, and he has had eight in each of the last two. He hasn't had any truly monster games to go with those shot totals yet, but he has been getting points, and with his shot totals that are going to be more than enough to get to value.

Calle Jarnkrok, W, Toronto Maple Leafs

Jarnkrok has continued to provide good value for his owners. He has points in two of the three playoff games he has played this year and he remains well-positioned to get points playing alongside Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner.

Neal Pionk, D, Winnipeg Jets

If Josh Morrissey is out again for the Jets we could see another big game from Pionk. He has three points, four shots and five blocked shots in game three, and I think the shots and blocked shots are repeatable for him, which makes him a really nice value.
