NHL DFS Picks & Playbook Today, 3/28

DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

We are presented with a tremendous 14-game schedule that showcases several exceptional players in highly favorable matchups. Alongside the usual elite options such as Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon, we also have the opportunity to consider some incredibly valuable plays.

Goalies remain a crucial aspect of constructing our lineups. We can opt for a higher-priced goalie or explore more affordable alternatives, even in the face of challenging matchups. One thing remains certain – goalies continue to possess an element of unpredictability.

NHL DFS Lineups: Best Goalies to Use

Filip Gustavsson, G, Minnesota Wild

Picking on the San Jose Sharks is never a bad idea. They are a terrible team and can barely generate any kind of offence on the road. Filip Gustavsson has been good in his last two starts and I expect that trend to continue tonight.

Alex Nedeljkovic, G, Pittsburgh Penguins

Every time I back a Pittsburgh goalie, they find a way to let me down. Alex Nedeljkovic has an elite matchup on paper, and he has been rock-solid at home, posting a 2.34 GAA and a .923 SV%. Columbus is horrendous, so naturally, Pittsburg should win, right? Nedeljkovic is good enough to win this game, but he needs some support from his teammates.

Anton Forsberg, G, Ottawa Senators

Look, I’m not happy about this either, but we can’t deny that the Ottawa Senators and Anton Forsberg have an elite matchup on paper. The Blackhawks aren’t very good on the road, and I can’t trust them to score goals. Could Forsberg let us all down?

Of course, but we could also get him at low-ownership and that could help us make some money. His price tag is crazy inflated, but he doesn’t have the upside to be used in a GPP. If you’re trying to get creative with one of your cash game lineups, you at least have to consider him.

Cayden Primeau, G, Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens are coming off an impressive 2-1 victory against the Colorado Avalanche and are probably feeling very good about themselves. Cayden Primeau has been very good since seeing regular playing time and has a decent chance of hitting value tonight.

Charlie Lindgren, G, Washington Capitals

The Washington Capitals are frauds, but they continue to win hockey games. They are holding onto a wild card spot and still have a chance of locking up the third spot in the Metropolitan Division. Toronto may be shorthanded tonight with Matthews questionable to play. If he does sit, Washington gets a small boost. Charlie Lindgren has won four of his last five games and is 8-2-0 in his last ten. He’s a great option in a GPP.

NHL DFS Lineups: Best Skaters to Use

Connor McDavid, C, Edmonton Oilers

The matchup on paper for Connor McDavid may seem like a tough one, but let’s be honest, no one can stop him. McDavid has 73 points in 33 home games this season and has finished with two or more points in five straight games. He’s by far the best cash game option.

Sidney Crosby, C, Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins may suck, but Sidney Crosby is not the reason. He has seven points in the last two games and has an elite matchup on paper. You know he’s not going to stop fighting for his team until they are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. I expect a strong game from the Penguins’ captain.

Kirill Kaprizov, W, Minnesota Wild

The Minnesota Wild need all the wins they can get to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Kirill Kaprizov has ten goals and six assists in the last ten games and is just carrying his team on his back. His $9700 is a lot, but he’s going to torment the Sharks tonight.

Filip Forsberg, W, Nashville Predators

The Nashville Predators just don’t lose hockey games anymore. Filip Forsberg has 19 points in the last ten games, including 48 shots on goal. He is a machine and a major reason why his team has found so much success over the last six weeks. Arizona isn’t a great hockey team, so expect Forsberg to have another strong game.

Roman Josi, D, Nashville Predators

Vintage Roman Josi is back, and I love it! The veteran has 73 points this season and has eight points in the last five games. He’s shooting the puck a ton but is also mixing in some blocked shots. His floor is very high, so he’s worth considering in all formats.

Zach Werenski, D, Columbus Blue Jackets

A lot of people are forgetting just how good Zach Werenski can be. He has six points in the last four games, but he’s shooting the puck a ton. He has 20 shots on goal in that span and has added eight blocked shots. He’s a discounted version of Josi but with almost as much upside. The Penguins aren’t an elite hockey team and if Columbus is down early, look for Werenski to see a healthy amount of ice time. He can be used as a single bullet in all formats.
