NHL DFS Lineups: Best Goalies To Use

Cam Talbot, G, Los Angeles Kings

The Los Angeles Kings are playing their second game in as many nights and third in the last four, but Cam Talbot is still a good option on this slate. The Sharks are a terrible hockey team, and they struggle to score goals. It might be hard for Talbot to hit value, but he’s the best goalie option for your cash game lineup.

Ilya Sorokin, G, New York Islanders

Ilya Sorokin didn’t face a ton of action against Chicago, but he did pick up the win and hit value. Now he has a matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets. It’s always a risk to trust any Islanders goalie, but again, he’s got a good matchup on paper. He is a cash game option because he’s likely not going to rack up a ton of saves.

Sergei Bobrovsky, G, Florida Panthers

The Florida Panthers have really struggled over their last eight games, but they are still one of the best teams in the league. Sergei Bobrovsky has been very good this season and he’s going to face an Ottawa team that loves to shoot the puck but can’t score. The upside is there for him to hit value without having to pick up the win.

Filip Gustavsson, G, Minnesota Wild

It’s always a risk to play a goalie against the Colorado Avalanche, but this play could work out. Colorado isn’t as dangerous on the road and Gustavsson has really played well in his last four games. The Wild are still trying to chase down the final playoff spot, so they need to rack up wins. Gustavsson is a risky option, so he should only be considered in GPPs.

Cayden Primeau, G, Tampa Bay Lightning

Tampa Bay is playing their second game in as many nights and are a mediocre team on the road. They are coming off a 4-1 win against Toronto, but that doesn’t mean they are going to walk into Montreal and dominate.

The Canadiens have been playing some really good hockey for late and Cayden Primeau has played a big part in that. He has won 3 of his last 4 starts and has allowed just two goals in those wins. He’s worth considering in a GPP, especially with his $7200 DraftKings price tag.

Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups

Sidney Crosby, C, Pittsburgh Penguins

As bad as the Pittsburgh Penguins have been this season, Sidney Crosby continues to remind us that even at his age, he’s still elite. He has four goals in the last two games and 11 points in the last five. Washington has been playing better of late, but they still aren’t an elite hockey team. Crosby can be used as a single-bullet in all formats.

Bo Horvat, C, New York Islanders

The New York Islanders have a good matchup on paper and Bo Horvat has scored in back-to-back games. His shot volume isn’t very consistent, but that won’t matter if he scores tonight. His price tag is also very fair on DK.

Mikko Rantanen, W, Colorado Avalanche

Mikko Rantanen has scored more goals this season on the road than at home. He’s now up to 100 points on the year and could easily add a few more to his total. He’s much cheaper than Nathan MacKinnon DK and will certainly be able to come close to hitting value, if not exceeding it.

Nikita Kucherov, W, Tampa Bay Lightning

As much as I think the Canadiens could have a strong game tonight, they aren’t going to be able to slow down Nikita Kucherov. The man is built differently-- hitting 130 points this season-- and is coming off a three-point performance against the Leafs. He has 23 points in the last ten games and will most certainly add a few more to his total before the end of the night.

Cale Makar, D, Colorado Avalanche

Even though I’m not crazy hot about the Avalanche tonight, I do think Cale Makar is an excellent play. He finished with six shots on goal and four blocked shots last game against Columbus. Despite not registering a point, he was able to hit value. He has ten shots on goal and nine blocked shots in the last two games. With that kind of floor, you can safely deploy him in all formats.

MacKenzie Weegar, D, Calgary Flames

I’m really starting to fall in love with Mackenzie Weegar. The Calgary defenseman is riding a four-game point streak and has blocked a whopping 16 shots in that span. This gives him a really high floor even if his matchup on paper isn’t great. He’s a cheap(er) version of Roman Josi. You can use him as a single-bullet in all formats and probably get him at low ownership.
