Welcome to the Fantasy Alarm NHL Playbook. This is your one-stop shop for everything DFS related for tonight's 4-game slate. We’ve had a few of these small slates over the last couple of weeks, but that doesn’t mean everyone is comfortable tackling those slates. That’s where the Playbook comes in! Let’s dive into the action and see which players we need to keep an eye on.

For the NHL Bets, we were let down by the Ducks on Monday, but that means we just have to start a new run! It’s still early in the season, and we have a long way to go, so strap in and enjoy the ride! You can get every expert pick, including mine, right here.

Carolina Hurricanes vs Minnesota Wild Prediction

The Minnesota Wild have a tough matchup on paper against the Carolina Hurricanes, who average over 34 shots per game on the road. Goalie Jesper Wallstedt is confirmed to get the start, and he’s been nothing short of amazing this season. He’s 4-0-2 this season and has posted a shutout in back-to-back starts. Am I expecting another one tonight? No, but I do think he will see a ton of shots, so we’ll take the Over on his 27.5 saves. I know the number is high, but we have to trust.

Today's NHL DFS Cheat Sheet & Stacks

Goalie of The Day: Alex Lyon - BUF

No one had Alex Lyon being a top goalie option on any DFS slate in 2025, but here we are. The Sabres netminder doesn’t have great overall numbers, but he’s much better on home ice. The Flames are playing their second game in as many nights, and they can’t score goals, period. Lyon is a good cash game option because of his chances of picking up the win.

Honourable mention: Logan Thompson - WSH

If we are going to acquire Logan Thompson at a discount, we should consider him. I know people want to think that the Edmonton Oilers are a great offensive team, but they just aren’t. They struggle to find the back of the net, and Thompson has been lights out at home. The struggle will always be his team providing him with some goal support, but if you want to go against the grain, this is one route to consider.

Player of The Day: Tage Thompson - BUF

It’s hard not to play Tage Thompson when he is on the slate. He has four goals in the last five games and continues to shoot the puck at a high level. As mentioned above, the Flames can’t generate offence, so they will spend too much time in their own end. Thompson is likely to find the back of the net and flirt with the shot bonus, so he’s worth the elevated price tag.

Value Play of The Day: Hampus Lindholm - BOS

There is no shortage of value on the Bruins’ blue line to choose from. Andrew Peeke and Nikita Zadorov are options, but the best overall value is Hampus Lindholm. He can block shots and also provide some offence. With Charlie McAvoy out of the lineup, Lindholm will step up and take over the top power play duties. There are a lot of ways for him to hit value in this game.
