NHL Best Bets for October 27
Buffalo Sabres at New Jersey Devils
I love being all aboard the Devils band wagon at least on the betting side right now because no team is more fun to watch on a nightly basis. They are averaging 4 goals per game so far this season and have topped their team total mark of 3.5 in 4 of 6 games to this point. Tonight they will chase that over again as the Sabres come to town and they've got a real good shot considering how the Sabres play defense. Buffalo is allowing 3.14 goals per game through 7 contests this season which is around middle of the pack but their expected goals against is normally much higher and they are getting a bit lucky. Eric Comrie will start for the Sabres and he has been good with a 2.05 GAA to his credit but his start came against the Canadiens and Islanders who aren't exactly lighting the world on fire. With all that said give me the Devils to score a boat load of goals in tonight's matchup.
Pick: New Jersey Devils Over 3.5 Goals (-165 at BetMGM)
Minnesota Wild at Washington Capitals
Well last night the Wild proved me wrong, they are just incapable of playing defense this season so let's just lean into that narrative for tonight. Minnesota has now hit the over in 6 of 7 games this season with many being 7 or 8 goal games and passing the over with relative ease. Tonight they travel to take on the Capitals and they too aren't looking great on defense allowing 3.83 goals per game. This total will really come down to if the Caps can score enough goals to keep pace and in their last game the offense showed signs of life with a 6 spot against the New Jersey Devils. They still employ Alex Ovechkin too by the way and he is hunting down the all time goals record! Starting goaltenders tonight will be Marc-Andre Fleury and Darcy Kuemper and each of them have GAAs over 3.5 so expect some scoring tonight and lets top that total of 6 goals!
Pick: Wild & Capitals Over 6 Goals (-125 at BetMGM)
