Welcome into NHL player projections central for the season on Underdog Fantasy! Player props and projections are becoming one of the hottest growing things in hockey over the past few seasons and I have definitely taken notice as it adds yet another layer to a great game experience. Throughout this season you will find picks offered on the Underdog site that I find the most appealing as there are many to choose from so that's why I'm here to help you sift through the options.

For today's slate, we have 12 games on tap around the NHL and plenty of options for player props! I have highlighted a trio of plays that I will be following tonight that includes 3 players around the league for the Florida Panthers, San Jose Sharks and Buffalo Sabres! Good luck to everyone on the plays tonight, let's win some cheddar!

NHL Underdog Fantasy Top Picks December 21

Aleksander Barkov, Florida Panthers - HIGHER than 2.5 Shots on Goal

Never think of the all star center of much of a shooter but the recent numbers would prove you dead wrong! Barkov has gone higher than 2.5 shots in 8 of his last 10 games while averaging 3.6 shots per contest. Overall on the season the numbers are good too with a 64% hit rate. The opponent tonight will be the St. Louis Blues who are falling apart and allow 32.23 shots per

Alexander Barabanov, San Jose Sharks - HIGHER than 1.5 Shots on Goal

For the first time this season a Shark player in on the Underdog NHL plays of the day! Its for good reason of course as the Coyotes on the road the past month are allowing 36 shots per game so Barb just needs a pair to top the play of 1.5 shots! He has done this in 7 of the last 10 games and I expect it to happen again tonight.

Rasmus Dahlin, Buffalo Sabres - HIGHER than 3.0 Shots on Goal

I don't normally like the even number plays for shots on goal but tonight I will make an exemption. Dahlin has been amazing as usual with his production from the blue line averaging 4 shots on goal over the last 10 games. He has topped 3 shots on goal in 7 of those games with 3 pushes as well! Toronto Maple Leafs may be a good team as a opponent too here as they are allowing 34 shots per game over the last 30 days on the road.
