Best Fantasy Football WR/CB Match Ups Christmas Day

Left WR vs Right CB
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
George PickensDAL19.6 / 16.6
CornerbackOppMatchup
Jonathan JonesWASSafe
After a couple of down weeks, George Pickens bounced back with 7 receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown on 9 targets in his Week 16 matchup against the Chargers. This was a breath of fresh air for fantasy managers after two straight games under 40 receiving yards for the first time this season. Pickens is still a core piece of this passing offense with 9+ targets in 8 of the last 9 games and is a top 10 WR for me in Week 17 in a plus matchup against the Commanders.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
Courtland SuttonDEN14.4 / 12.1
CornerbackOppMatchup
Nohl WilliamsKCModerate
Courtland Sutton’s hot streak continued in Week 16, finishing with 6 receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown on 12 targets. This was three straight games with 10+ targets for Sutton, who has regained his spot as the clear top option for Bo Nix in this Broncos passing offense. The Chiefs defense was a difficult matchup for the majority of this year, but it’s a little less frightening given the recent injuries in the defense and the lowered expectations for the Chiefs team as a whole. I’ve got Sutton as a top 15 WR for Week 17.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
Jameson WilliamsDET14.2 / 12.3
CornerbackOppMatchup
Isaiah RodgersMINRisky
Jameson Williams was tied for the team lead with 9 targets and finished with 5 receptions for 70 yards. It wasn’t the explosive stat line that fantasy managers had come to expect since Dan Campbell took over playcalling duties, but Williams still saw 9+ targets for a 4th consecutive game and remains a key piece of the Lions passing offense. Williams has a tough matchup against the Vikings secondary, but I’ve got him as a top 12 WR for Week 17.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
JuJu Smith-SchusterKC4.4 / 3.7
CornerbackOppMatchup
Riley MossDENModerate
JuJu Smith-Schuster was tied for the team lead with 4 targets in Week 16 but finished with just 1 reception for 12 yards. JuJu and the Chiefs offense should be avoided at all costs this week given the fact they’re playing the tough Denver Broncos secondary, and it’ll be third string QB Chris Oladokun under center.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
Justin JeffersonMIN12.1 / 9.7
CornerbackOppMatchup
Rock Ya-SinDETSafe
We finally started to see signs for life for Justin Jefferson last week, who caught 6-of-8 targets for 85 receiving yards, which was his highest yardage total since Week 5. Unfortunately, it’s more bad news for Jefferson and the Vikings passing offense with QB J.J. McCarthy set to miss this week with a hand injury meaning that rookie Max Brosmer will be the Vikings signal caller for championship week. The matchup is a favorable one, so I’ve still got Jefferson just inside my top 20 WRs, but there’s some serious risk for a low floor in this game given the potential for poor QB play.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
Terry McLaurinWAS11.7 / 9.8
CornerbackOppMatchup
Shavon RevelDALSafe
Terry McLaurin was lining up to be an intriguing option for fantasy managers in Week 17 given the matchup against the Dallas Cowboys secondary, but those waters have been muddied given the fact the Commanders are now down to their QB3 Josh Johnson on the depth chart with both Jayden Daniels and Marcus Mariota out with injuries. McLaurin has been the WR1 for this offense since returning from injury, but it’s going to be tough to trust him in championship week with a third string QB under center. I’ve got McLaurin just outside of my top 24 WRs for Week 17 and he’s the only Commanders WR I’d be looking to start this week.

Right WR vs Left CB
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
Ryan FlournoyDAL7.2 / 7.6
CornerbackOppMatchup
Mike SainristilWASSafe
Ryan Flournoy caught both of his targets last week, finishing with 2 receptions for 18 yards but saving his fantasy day with his second receiving touchdown in the last three games. Flournoy is the clear WR3 for the Cowboys offense but is still the fourth option in the pecking order behind the two top WRs and TE Jake Ferguson. There’s not a much better matchup to take a flier against than the one Flournoy has this week against Washington, but I’ll have him outside of my top 50 WRs for Week 17 assuming he’s active as he’s been dealing with a knee issue that’s had him limited in practice.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
Troy FranklinDEN11.5 / 9.4
CornerbackOppMatchup
Kristian FultonKCSafe
Troy Franklin finished with 4 receptions for 66 yards on 5 targets in Week 16 but is likely to be the 2nd option in the passing offense once again this week with Pay Bryant already ruled out for Week 17. Franklin had been trending down the first couple of weeks after the Broncos Week 12 bye, but injuries in the WR room haven’t allowed him to fall far. I’ve got Franklin just inside my top 40 WRs for Week 17.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
Isaac TeSlaaDET4 / 4.4
CornerbackOppMatchup
Fabian MoreauMINRisky
All Isaac TeSlaa does is score touchdowns. Surprisingly, TeSlaa actually saw a season-high 7 targets in Week 16 and finished with 4 receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown. It’s hard to expect the targets to continue given the fact he hadn’t seen over 3 targets in a game this season prior to last week, so I would look to avoid TeSlaa in this tough matchup against Minnesota this week. I’ve got TeSlaa outside of my top 70 WRs for Week 17.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
Xavier WorthyKC8.5 / 6.8
CornerbackOppMatchup
Pat SurtainDENRisky
Xavier Worthy is expected to operate as the Chiefs WR1 in Week 17 with Rashee Rice already ruled out, but this is unlikely to be a very fantasy friendly role given the difficult matchup against the Broncos and the fact Worthy will be catching passes from 3rd string QB Chris Oladokun. Worthy is my highest ranked Chiefs WR this week and is still outside of my top 45 WRs for Week 17.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
Jordan AddisonMIN10.6 / 8.9
CornerbackOppMatchup
D.J. ReedDETSafe
Jordan Addison was targeted just 3 times last week and finished with 2 receptions for 26 yards. Addison has been targeted just 5 times over the last two weeks and things won’t get any easier for Addison fantasy managers this week given the injuries at the QB position for the Vikings. The matchup is pretty solid, but I’ve got Addison outside of my top 40 WRs for this week given the lack of targets recently and the fact that Max Brosmer will be the one throwing passes.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
Treylon BurksWAS4 / 3.4
CornerbackOppMatchup
Trevon DiggsDALSafe
Treylon Burks has had a resurgence of sorts for his career down the stretch in Washington this season, but he’s the 3rd option at best in an offense being led by the 3rd string QB and should be avoided in all formats.

Slot WR vs Slot CB
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
CeeDee LambDAL17.3 / 15.8
CornerbackOppMatchup
Noah IgbinogheneWASSafe
CeeDee Lamb finished with 6 receptions for 51 yards on 7 targets last week, which was a letdown based on the standards for the Cowboys superstar that had finished with 110+ receiving yards in 3 straight games prior to last week. These things happen at the WR position from time to time, but Lamb is still a set it and forget it must start every week. That’s especially the case against a weak Commanders secondary in this week, with Lamb as a top 5 WR for me in Week 17.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
Marvin MimsDEN6.7 / 5.4
CornerbackOppMatchup
Chamarri ConnerKCSafe
Troy Franklin finished with 4 receptions for 66 yards on 5 targets in Week 16 but is likely to be the 2nd option in the passing offense once again this week with Pay Bryant already ruled out for Week 17. Franklin had been trending down the first couple of weeks after the Broncos Week 12 bye, but injuries in the WR room haven’t allowed him to fall far. I’ve got Franklin just inside my top 40 WRs for Week 17.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
Amon-Ra St. BrownDET19.8 / 16.5
CornerbackOppMatchup
Byron MurphyMINRisky
Amon-Ra St. Brown had a down week in Week 16 by his standards, with just 4 receptions for 54 yards on 9 targets. The good news is that Amon-Ra still saw 9+ targets in three straight games and remains a must-start regardless of matchup. It’s a tough matchup against the Vikings this week, but I’ve still got St. Brown as a must-start top 5 WR for Week 17.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
Marquise BrownKC9 / 7.4
CornerbackOppMatchup
Ja'Quan McMillianDENRisky
Marquise Brown is expected to see additional snaps with Rashee Rice out for the remainder of the season, but fantasy managers should steer clear for this week. Brown hasn’t had more than 35 receiving yards since Week 11, and expectations should be low this week given the tough matchup against the Broncos and how far the Chiefs are down their QB depth chart.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
Jalen NailorMIN6.4 / 5.5
CornerbackOppMatchup
Amik RobertsonDETSafe
Jalen Nailor was targeted twice last week and held without a catch in the Week 16 matchup against the Giants. Nailor should be avoided in all formats by fantasy managers in Week 17.
Wide ReceiverTeamDK / FD PPG
Deebo SamuelWAS12.3 / 9.9
CornerbackOppMatchup
Reddy StewardDALSafe
Deebo Samuel finished Week 16 with 3 receptions for 35 yards on 4 targets and has been operating as the clear second option in the Commanders passing offense after the injury to veteran TE Zach Ertz. The matchup against the Cowboys is an intriguing one, but I’ve got Deebo outside of my top 35 WRs due to my concerns with the quality of QB play for Week 17.
