Welcome to the DFS Watch List for NFL Week 17!

Wow. Just wow. Last week was absolutely outstanding. The Playbook and Dart Board were absolute fire and I heard from a ton of people who won money across all platforms. Of course, some of us weren't so lucky, right? If you were like me and got tagged with the James Robinson and/or Clyde Edwards-Helaire injury, I'm sure you had a number of lineups with all sorts of potential but just missed. If only we had the power to predict injuries, amirite? Now, we can sit and lament over what could have been or we can turn our attention towards Week 17. With just two weeks left in the NFL regular season, we only have two big slates left before we move into the playoffs and start working more of the short-slate mentality.

There's plenty to look forward to this week as there is no Thursday or Saturday games which leaves us a big ol' 14-game slate this week. That's fantastic because there are going to be so many ways for people to go that once we whittle down the player pool here and in the final Playbook and Dart Board, we're going to have the advantage. We've beaten the heck out of the lineup trains lately and I don't intend to stop.

On another positive note, the changes in COVID protocols could help keep this player pool nice and flush. Under new CDC guidelines surrounding this Omicron strain, the quarantine period has been reduced from 10 days to five which means players who land on the reserve/COVID list on a Monday or Tuesday should have a greater chance to play, especially if they are asymptomatic. Yeah, Carson Wentz! We're looking at you, buddy. The universe isn't going to steal our Colts from us that easily, not when you're playing a tomato can defense like that of the Raiders.

But I digress. Let's get to it this week and, as always, we start with a brief look back before we move forward.

So what exactly did last week's Playbook deliver? As always, we like to check in to ensure we remain on the right path.

Scoring The Playbook Week 16

The Playbook & Dart Board sets records for the second-straight week, delivering the highest score delivered on the Draft Kings main slate all season.

Here are the other highlights:

  • The overall average Value in the Playbook was 2.5X Value.
  • The Dart Board delivered a 30+ point performer in Isaiah McKenzie
  • The Playbook had the highest scoring players at every position with Joe Burrow, Justin Jackson, Tee Higgins, Mark Andrews, and the Bucs DT.   This was accomplished one other time this season.
  • 71% of the Dart Board players returned a 2X Value.
  • The highest score using only players from the Playbook and Dart Board was a season high 269.9 Draft Kings points.

For any newcomers this week:

“If you give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he’ll eat for a lifetime.”

We take this adage to heart when it comes to playing NFL DFS. The Fantasy Alarm Playbook isn’t just about handing you a list of players and a lineup to use each week. It is designed to help you learn to be a better DFS player. It’s about teaching you the process used in selecting which players to scout and, eventually, which ones to use.

Therefore, we will begin each week with the Weekly NFL DFS Watch List which is designed to keep tabs on marquee names, chalk plays and, of course, the weekly bargains who may not see the same coverage and exposure. This piece will be continuously updated throughout the week, based on the most recent news and injuries which means you may see a name or two removed as we get closer to kick-off. You may also see a few late-week additions who pique our interest for some reason too, and by the end of the week, this Watch List will eventually become your Playbook. Again, it’s about teaching you the process.
