NFL DFS Week 5 RB Picks 2026: Top DraftKings & FanDuel Running Backs
Welcome to the 2026 NFL DFS Week 5 RB Coach article! We had a pretty good Week 4 with Derrick Henry, Christian McCaffrey, and James Cook all scoring TDs, and Aaron Jones making the most of his lead role in the Vikings’ backfield. Kenneth Walker led the way as our play of the week. He’s on a bye in Week 5, but there are plenty of other relatively inexpensive NFL DFS RB options that we can use in our NFL DFS lineups this week.
NFL DFS Week 5 RB Coach for FanDuel and DraftKings Fantasy
As we take a closer look at the NFL DFS RB Week 5 rankings, we find that Derrick Henry ($9,200) has actually moved ahead of Bijan Robinson (8,900) and is the second most expensive NFL DFS RB on the FanDuel (FD) platform but with an $8,000 salary he is the fourth most expensive NFL DFS RB on the DraftKings (DK) platform. Keep in mind that DK uses full point PPR scoring and FD uses half-point PPR scoring, and Henry is not known to be much of a pass catcher.
FD isn’t giving Jaylen Warren much respect this week. He is the 17th most expensive NFL DFS RB this week. He’s the 10th most expensive NFL DFS RB on the DK platform.
NFL Week 5 Running Backs
There are several NFL DFS RBs that we need to be wary of in Week 5. As this article is being written, Saquon Barkley (hamstring) hasn’t officially been designated as being out in Week 5, but with the Eagles already elevating Dameon Pierce from their practice squad, he’s unlikely to be active this week.
Breece Hall was inactive in Week 4 and likely to miss two more games. Braelon Allen, his RB handcuff, should get the bulk of the work out of the Jets’ backfield in Week 5, but he has a tough matchup against a Browns defense that has kept NFL DFS RBs in check this season.
Alvin Kamara scored 20.3 FD and 22.8 DK fantasy points in Week 4. With Travis Etienne (hamstring) on IR and required to miss at least three more games, Kamara has taken over lead back duties. His pass-catching ability makes him an NFL DFS Week 5 RB pick with a high floor, but the Vikings' run defense makes using him this week a risky choice and one that we’ll avoid.
This appears to be a week where you don’t have to invest a big chunk of your DFS salary on NFL DFS RBs. Our mid-tier and value picks seem to be the sweet spot for Week 5.
NFL DFS RB Top Tier Picks for Week 5
Bijan Robinson, Falcons – DraftKings: $8,700 | FanDuel: $8,900
Robinson is matchup-proof and on a roll. He’s scored more than 30 DK fantasy points in three of four weeks and at least 27 FD fantasy points in three of the first four weeks. No team has run the ball more than the Falcons this season.
Jonathan Taylor, Colts – DraftKings: $7,800 | FanDuel: $8,600
Taylor takes on the Steelers this week, and they’ve given up 4.36 YPC and four total TDs to NFL DFS RBs this season. He’s averaging 21.8 DK fantasy points and 20.3 FD fantasy points per game this season. He’s a safe NFL DFS Week 5 RB pick, with the Texans and their stout run defense being the only team to have been able to slow him down this season.
NFL DFS RB Mid-Tier Picks for NFL Week 5
Jaylen Warren, Steelers – DraftKings: $6,700 | FanDuel: $6,700
We NFL DFS players have to love how Warren has been producing since he’s been the Steelers’ lead back with Rico Dowdle nursing his toe injury. He’s averaging 6.47 YPC over the past two weeks and has caught six passes during that time frame as well. Warren takes on the Colts, who have given up 4.34 YPC and four TDs to NFL DFS RBs this season. His very affordable FD salary makes him a top NFL DFS Week 5 RB pick who can bring a good return on investment.
Aaron Jones, Vikings – DraftKings: $6,500 | FanDuel: $6,200
Jones Sr. is another NFL DFS RB who has flourished now that he is his team’s lead RB. He takes on the Saints who just got shellacked by Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson Jr. in Week 4. The beating they just took on Monday night might slightly inflate these numbers, but for the season they’ve given up the most PPR fantasy points per game (34.3) and the most rushing TDs (9) to NFL DFS RBs. Jones Sr. is the 12th most expensive DK NFL DFS RB and the 23rd most expensive RB on the FD platform. Like Warren, Jones Sr.’s FD salary makes him an enticing NFL DFS Week 5 RB pick.
Kyren Williams, Rams – DraftKings: $6,400 | FanDuel: $8,100
Williams has a favorable matchup against a Bills team that has given up six total TDs and the sixth most PPR fantasy points to NFL DFS RBs this season. Williams played a season high 83.3% of the Rams’ offensive snaps in Week 4 and he has scored three TDs and is averaging 5.9 YPC in his last three games. Williams is also being used more in the Rams' passing game this season. Last week, Williams recorded 10 receptions and is averaging 5.3 catches per game this season, which more than doubles his career average. Williams will likely continue to be used in the Rams’ passing game in Week 5 against a Bills team that has given up the fifth most catches to NFL DFS RBs this season.
NFL Week 5 DFS RB Value Picks
Bhayshul Tuten, Jaguars – DraftKings: $5,800 | FanDuel: $6,700
Tuten was one of our DFS RB value picks last week, and on the surface, he had a modestly productive Week 4. He collected 101 yards from scrimmage and recorded two receptions. Unfortunately, Tuten had two TDs called back because of penalties. The Jaguars remain a team that heavily utilizes the run. Only four teams have run the ball more than they have this season. Tuten has a good Week 5 matchup against the Eagles, who have given up the sixth most rushing yards to NFL DFS RBs.
TreVeyon Henderson, Patriots – DraftKings: $5,000 | FanDuel: $5,800
With Rhamondre Stevenson limited in practice this week due to a knee injury, Stevenson could have a larger role in the Patriots’ offense against the Raiders this week. The Raiders have given up just under 5 YPC to NFL DFS RBs this season. Henderson is a top NFL DFS Week 5 RB pick in part due to his success when he has been used as the Patriots’ lead back. Stevenson missed Weeks 9 through 11 last season, and Henderson averaged 5.6 YPC and scored five TDs in those three games.
NFL DFS RB Fades for Week 5
Jeremiyah Love, Cardinals – DraftKings: $6,100 | FanDuel: $6,600
We’re getting mixed signals from Love and the Cardinals leading up to his Week 5 matchup against the Lions. Based on some reports, it sounds like Love is frustrated because he can’t play up to his full capability because of lingering effects from his preseason ankle injury, and that his playing time will be managed. Other reports have suggested that he tweaked his other ankle in Week 4, but more recently head coach Mike LaFluer told the media that Love’s ankle injury shouldn’t impact his Week 5 performance. Where there’s smoke, there’s sometimes fire, and Love has been limited in practice this week.
NFL Week 5 RB Play of the Week
Chase Brown, Bengals – DraftKings: $6,900 | FanDuel: $8,000
If Ja'Marr Chase (concussion) and Tee Higgins (adductor) are inactive in Week 5, Brown could have an expanded role in an already favorable matchup against a bad Miami Dolphins team. Brown can get it done on the ground and through the air and the Dolphins have already given up three rushing and four receiving TDs to NFL DFS RBs this season. Brown is coming off a tough Week 4 matchup against the Jaguars, who have been very good against the run, but he still managed to catch 11 passes for 71 yards.
