We've hit the bye weeks with Week 6 of the NFL season now here. The main slate is just 11 games this week but there are still some pretty elite matchups for QB's to take advantage of much like we got last week where Geno Smith, Josh Allen and Tom Brady had strong fantasy performances. Let's take a look at some of the top QB plays for this week's slate.

NFL DFS QB Top Plays

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

No real shocker here right? Allen has thrown for 400 and 424 yards in two of the last three games. He just threw for 424 yards and three touchdowns against the Steelers last week. He is the top scoring fantasy QB right now and this week he has a matchup against the Chiefs in a game that has an expected total of 53.5 with just a 2.5-point spread. The only “issue” is how expensive Allen is and the fact that Stefon Diggs, his top WR, is also expensive which can make roster building somewhat difficult.

Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

Every week I say to check the schedule and see who the Seahawks are playing. This week that honor goes to the Arizona Cardinals and therefore we can expect some high rostership on Kyler Murray this week. Murray had a tough matchup against the Eagles top rated defense in Week 5 but still came through with 17 fantasy points. On the year he has put up at least 20 fantasy points in three of the five games with a high of 26.88 fantasy points against the Raiders. What's been helping the QB play against the Seahawks has actually been the surprising Seattle offense that continues to put up points which forces teams facing them to throw the football instead of trying to run out the clock. With James Conner's status for this game currently questionable the Cardinals offense may rely on Murray even more this week. This game currently has a 51.5 game total with the Cardinals being 2.5-point road favorites.

NFL DFS QB Mid-Price Plays

Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks

So, if you are playing on DraftKings you are once again getting a really good bargain on Smith this week as he is just $5,700 and the 10th highest price QB. On FanDuel he is $7,400 and the ninth highest priced QB on the slate. Either way, Smith is in yet another good position to be among the top DFS QB's on the slate. The Cardinals secondary is really nothing special and we've seen both D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett put up big numbers over the past four weeks. Losing running back Rashaad Penny shouldn't be that big of a blow given the impact rookie Kenneth Walker can have on the ground and in the passing game which is something Penny did not really offer.  Smith is averaging the fourth most fantasy points per game among QB's on this main slate.

Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The lack of touchdowns continue to be maddening and the football luck was against Brady last week as twice he threw passes where the receiver was tackled around the goal line and then Leonard Fournette ran one in and the other they had to settle for a field goal. That said, Brady still threw for 351 yards and a touchdown which netted you 22.7 fantasy points. The Steelers defense is just as bad as the Falcons and you know Brady is going to be throwing in this one early and we just hope this time Mike Evans gets into the end zone instead of being tackled at the one.

Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings

The Dolphins secondary ranks 30th against the QB position when it comes to fantasy points allowed. This week they will have their hands full with Justin Jefferson who is more than capable of being the one-man show against this defense just like he has been this season. If there is one thing to worry about it would be the fact that this game is on the road and sometimes those road teams get the old “Miami Flu” where they go out to the clubs and aren't ready to play in the Florida humidity on Sunday.

NFL DFS QB Value Plays

Teddy Bridgewater, Miami Dolphins

So, I'm just assuming Bridgewater will be good to go this week given the reports that he didn't actually suffer any concussion on Sunday despite being placed in the concussion protocol. The status of Tyreek Hill is also worth monitoring here but early reports are that Hill claiming that he “is fine”. I discussed the “Miami Flu” above and that can impact opposing defenses as well. Hill and Jaylen Waddle are one of the more dangerous receiving tandems in the NFL and if this game ends up being a back and forth matchup then Bridgewater can easily have himself a day where he throws for something like 250-yards with two touchdowns which would be close to a 20-point day.

NFL DFS QB Fades

Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

I know picking on the Jets is an easy thing to do and this game is being played in Green Bay. It's not that I think Rodgers will be a complete bust this week, he probably has himself a good day but I see him giving us the same type of production that we've been getting which is somewhere around 17 fantasy points and at his price tag, especially given the higher upside plays around him, Rodgers is a fade for me when it comes to my core lineups and likely on finds himself in one lineup if I was playing in a 20-max contest.
