Vikings vs. Bears Predictions For Monday Night Football, NFL Week 1
If there was ever a game where the biggest matchup may be off the field, it’s this Monday Night Football clash. That’s because fans have been enamored with the Bears' hiring former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as their new head coach.
Staying in the NFC North means that he has already had his fair share of games against the Vikings defense, making the matchup with him and Minnesota defensive coordinator Brian Flores. It’s safe to say that Chicago fans are optimistic about that, as Ben Johnson led the Lions offense to 30+ points in five straight games against the Vikings.
The last four of which came against Brian Flores, and with that in mind, if you want to stick with standard markets for your Vikings vs. Bears picks, consider a Chicago upset (get All-Pro Access for our NFL best bets for Monday Night Football!).
Even outside of that coordinator matchup specifically, Minnesota also allowed the fifth-most passing yards per game last year. That plays a factor in the best bet from our Vikings vs. Bears predictions, which like a Chicago upset, has plus-money odds!

Vikings vs. Bears Best Bet: D’Andre Swift Over 2.5 Receptions (+109 at Novig)
Along with Ben Johnson coming to Chicago to be a QB whisperer for Caleb Williams, he is also reuniting with RB D’Andre Swift. Look, we know that there are fantasy managers of the former Lions RB that may not love him, but there is plenty to love for this matchup.
First and foremost, Caleb Williams threw for 340 yards against the Vikings at home last season, including 47 attempts! We’re only asking for three catches from a back more than capable of being a dual threat, which he has proven to do in these spots. In that home matchup against Minnesota, he had three catches.
Across his eight games against the Vikes, he’s had 3+ catches in all but one of them as well. It’s also worth looking at Jahmyr Gibbs against Minnesota last season under Ben Johnson - he had 4+ catches in both matchups for 31 and 44 receiving yards.
We won’t try and convince you that D’Andre Swift is the same caliber as Jahmyr Gibbs, but he is a similar type of back. If you want to pick your poison between Aaron Jones or Jordan Mason finding the endzone (both at identical +160 odds), we’d also suggest that approach as part of your Vikings vs. Bears picks.
That said, we’d rather not pick one and see the other score instead, or in other words, avoid the TD vulturing (we’d pick Jordan Mason for what it’s worth). Therefore, we’ll take D’Andre Swift over 2.5 receptions (+109 at Novig) as the best bet from our Vikings vs. Bears predictions.Â
