NFL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets for Monday Night Football, 9/8
With this being an NFC North rivalry, primetime game AND final game of the Week 1 slate, we want you to be covered from all angles. That’s why we’re going to go beyond our overall NFL predictions for Monday Night Football and provide you with our absolute top pick.
There truly are so many Vikings vs. Bears player props to target, but we need to break down how these teams match up in general first. Based on what we saw from each team last season, we expect the Vikings to run the rock and the Bears to use their new Ben Johnson offense to move the ball through the air.
As much as the JJ McCarthy vs. Caleb Williams matchup can be discussed, this is just as much a matchup of coordinators in terms of Minnesota’s Brian Flores and Chicago’s Ben Johnson. In other words, we need to go beyond just between the white lines for the best NFL picks for Monday Night Football.

Monday Night Football Prediction for Vikings vs. Bears
To be more accurate, it’s head coach Ben Johnson now and no more offensive coordinator of the Lions. Right off the bat, he’s more than familiar and confident facing the NFC North, and that has created so much hype for Caleb Williams to excel in his sophomore campaign.
The former #1 overall pick will have to deal with Brian Flores’ defense, which he already did last season. That’s where we need to discuss how many player props we almost targeted for the NFL best bets for Monday Night Football. Given that many were on the Chicago side, they’re worth mentioning, given what our target ultimately is.
Caleb Williams was fantastic against the Vikings at home last season, and that was his trend against NFC North teams last year. Again, at home specifically. When that was the case, Williams threw for 340 yards against the Vikings, 231 yards against the Packers, and 334 yards against the Lions.
So, over a prop line of 222.5 passing yards can certainly be a consideration for your NFL predictions. That success is a nice transition to where we’re ultimately locking in the top pick from our NFL best bets for Monday Night Football.

Vikings vs. Bears Best Bet for NFL Week 1: Bears +1.5Â (-110 at Rebet)
If you also checked out our Vikings vs. Bears predictions linked above, you’ll see that we also targeted another Chicago player prop (for plus-money odds!). Therefore, the main target of our NFL best bets for Monday Night Football should come as no shock.
However, without all of that information, it may still be a shock that we’re trusting a team that finished 5-12 last season, which included a 10-game losing streak. So, if you’re insistent on keeping your NFL picks for MNF on the Minnesota side of the game, consider a rushing-based player prop.Â
Last year, Chicago’s defense allowed the fifth-most rushing yards per game. That said, we’re avoiding an Aaron Jones prop despite his success against the Bears last year (86 and 106 yards) because the team added Jordan Mason to the backfield.
Don’t be surprised if that becomes a 50/50 split sooner rather than later, and perhaps even Mason ending up with more carries! What we’re trusting instead is Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams exploited Minnesota’s weak point - the Vikings defense allowed the fifth-most passing yards per game.
As the offensive coordinator of the Lions, he racked up 30+ points against Brian Flores’ defense four times. That’s something his defense has allowed just seven times in total! We’re not saying to take Chicago to make the playoffs, but for their season opener, we’ve got Bears +1.5 (-110 at Rebet) as the top pick from our NFL best bets for Monday Night Football.
