Rebet Cowboys vs. Panthers Predictions for NFL Week 6, Sunday 10/12
Don’t look now, but the Cowboys and Panthers are both coming off wins in Week 5! Ok, we won’t read too far into that. Another element of this matchup is a bit of a revenge game. Carolina RB Rico Dowdle was thrust into the starting role after a late-week Chuba Hubbard injury, and boy did he deliver.
The former Cowboys RB not only crushed our best bet of over 52.5 rushing yards (which he did in one carry), but his whopping 206 rushing yards were the most in the entire NFL so far this season. It fueled the comeback win over the spiraling Miami Dolphins, which came while Dallas was pounding the New York Jets.
We had Javonte Williams over 62.5 rushing yards for that game, and his 135 yards cashed with ease. So, surely we just focus our Cowboys vs. Panthers picks on an RB again, right? Well, we’re actually not even going with a player prop at all this time around!
It’s not quite a standard market either, so let’s fully get into the best bet from our Cowboys vs. Panthers predictions for you.
Cowboys vs. Panthers Best Bet: Dallas -2.5 First Half Spread (-110 at Rebet)
We have the Cowboys heading east and taking down the Panthers, but just like the Dolphins and their fans saw this past Sunday, we don’t want to worry about a collapse late in the game. After all, Dallas has found ways to lose to teams they have no business losing to.
Therefore, we’re just focused on a fast start out of the gates to carry over their momentum from last Sunday and cash at halftime. Their dominant 37-22 win over the Jets was far worse than even that final score would suggest, and that’s without superstar WR CeeDee Lamb.
As just about every fan knows by now, the Cowboys’ biggest issue is their defense. Well, Carolina simply doesn’t have an offense that scares us enough to worry about that. Dallas will be ready for Rico Dowdle, and the WR group doesn’t scare us, even if Xavier Legette found the endzone in Week 5.
Regardless, Carolina needed a comeback, meaning they were down at halftime, and they were down 17-0 at one point. Even in their shocking 30-0 win over the Atlanta Falcons, Bryce Young and company still scored just 10 first-half points. So, it’s not shocking that their 6.4 points per game in the first half ranked 31st out of 32 teams.
Meanwhile, Dallas’ 16.6 points per game in the first half (17.7 in the last three) ranks second in the NFL. So, while their 2-2-1 record may not jump off the page at you, their early offense certainly does. Therefore, the best bet from our Cowboys vs. Panthers predictions is Dallas -2.5 in the first half (-110 at Rebet).
