Both the Ravens and the Chiefs come into this game at 1-2; a place neither were predicted to start their 2025 seasons a place each team never expected to be at heading into Week 4. One team will even up at 2-2 while the loser has a major uphill battle to climb not just within their division, but in the AFC landscape as both teams look to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl in February.

Ravens vs. Chiefs Predictions For NFL Week 4, Sunday 4:05 PM ET

These teams have faced each other a couple times fairly recently. That’s what happens when you typically win your division and also meet in the playoffs. The Chiefs have actually won both of their last two matchups in January of 2024 (in the playoffs) and September of last year. In fact, the Chiefs have won six of the last seven matchups between these teams.

The Chiefs dropped their first two games of the year against the Chargers and the Eagles in close ones. Last week they had a “get right” game where they beat the Giants 22-9. The Ravens have also started with some tough matchups here as they fell to the Bills and the Lions. They did have a decisive win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 2, 41-17.

Baltimore Ravens: Isaiah Likely Returns (Possibly)

The Ravens have been without emerging star Isaiah Likely to start the year as he heals from a foot injury. But he got a full practice in this week and could potentially make his return. The Chiefs have historically done a good job of bottling up Mark Andrews, with him never surpassing 57 yards and never scoring a touchdown against them. But, if you remember that Week 1 matchup last year, Likely caught the Chiefs by surprise with 9 catches for 111 yards and a touchdown. So getting him back would add another key weapon to their arsenal.

On defense, the Baltimore Ravens run one of the more complex schemes. That can confuse opposing quarterbacks and lead to turnovers. The Ravens defense is loaded all over, but star Kyle Hamilton paired with first round pick Malaki Starks at safety gives them protection over the top.

Kansas City Chiefs: Xavier Worthy Returns

The Chiefs will get a key weapon back this week with Xavier Worthy. He’ll be playing with a brace on his injured shoulder, so he might not be out there for every snap. But it’s a welcome return for a team that will still be without star WR Rashee Rice for another couple weeks. Worthy will join Travis Kelce, Hollywood Brown, and surprise breakout contributor Tyquan Thornton in the lineup.

The tough early schedule for the Chiefs have made it tough to showcase their defense. But they are still one of the best units in the league. Trent McDuffie can shut anyone down on the outside. And their guys up front in Chris Jones, George Karlaftis, and Nick Bolton are stout both against the pass and the run.

Ravens vs. Chiefs: Travis Kelce Over 4.5 Receptions  (+115 at BetMGM Sportsbook)

Here’s the reality of these matchups among any of the AFC monsters - anyone can win any game. When teams like the Bills, Ravens, and Chiefs square up, anyone can come out on top. So we really don’t like picking outright winners in these ones. And any one of these games can shootout or be a defensive battle to we are laying off the over/under as well.

For me, the safest and best bet this week is simple - it’s for Travis Kelce to do something. Xavier Worthy is back to join fellow field stretcher Tyquan Thornton in taping the top off. But Rashee Rice is still suspended. Last year in games where Rice was out and Worthy was playing, Travis Kelce averaged nearly seven catches per game. Not targets - receptions. He finished the season with 97 receptions and he didn’t play the last game.

The Ravens will be preoccupied with not letting up the big one and I think that opens things up underneath for Kelce to dink and dunk some catches. The Ravens have been a bottom-seven team against the tight end so far, based on the bend don’t break way they play. I’m not even saying Travis Kelce comes out and has a vintage 11-catch game like he did in January of 2024 against this team. I’m saying he catches five or more passes. Highly reasonable.
