This could have massive implications on the standings in the division. It’s razor close at the top with the Seahawks at 6-2, the Rams at 6-2, and the 49ers at 6-3. Rams vs. 49ers Predictions For Sunday 4:05 PM ET, NFL Week 10
As you know, these teams are both in the NFC West, meaning they play twice a year minimum. More, if they meet in the playoffs like they did following the 2021-2022 season. They’ve actually already played once this year in early October, where the 49ers won 26-23 in overtime. Prior to that, the Rams had won the previous three straight.Â
The Rams have been pretty hot, winning three of their last four games. The sole loss did come against these 49ers, however. Since that game, the 49ers themselves have had a bit of a mixed bag. They did beat the Giants and the Falcons. But they fell to the Texans and the Buccaneers, both on the road.Â
Los Angeles Rams: Matthew Stafford In Prime Form
There are always going to be your young hyped quarterbacks. The Drake Mayes and Jaxson Darts. But the veteran Matthew Stafford is quietly putting together his best season in years. He has 21 touchdowns and only two interceptions on the season so far, including nine touchdowns and zero picks in his last two games. Davante Adams has completely changed their red-zone pass game as he leads the league in red zone targets, end zone targets, and receiving touchdowns. That’s to go along with incumbent weapons Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams.
And the defense has been just as good. Like Stafford, they don’t seem to be the first name that comes up in conversations about the league’s best defense. But FTN Fantasy’s DVOA stat actually has them ranked #1. And Pro Football Focus has them graded out in the top three.Â
San Francisco 49ers: No Brock Purdy Still
Starting quarterback Brock Purdy is working his way back from a turf toe issue. It’s been one that we’ve been told won’t likely be 100% at any point. And, for this week, even if he’s active and available in a backup capacity, Brock Purdy won’t start for the 49ers. It will be another week with Mac Jones on a 49ers team that has dealt with injuries on offense to Brandon Aiyuk, Ricky Pearsall, Jauan Jennings, and George Kittle at various points. With all that going on, star running back Christian McCaffrey has been getting the kind of targets you’d expect from a top wide receiver. In fact, his 80 targets on the season are third behind only Ja'Marr Chase and Chris Olave.Â
On defense, the 49ers have not been as stout as past years as well. They lost Talanoa Hufanga and Dre Greenlaw in the offseason. And the defense has been bitten by the injury bug as well. Most notably, star linebacker Fred Warner is done for the season after suffering a serious ankle injury.Â

Rams vs. 49ers: Tyler Higbee Under 21.5 Yards (-110 at BetMGM Sportsbook)
For many years, Tyler Higbee was among the league leaders in snaps. That’s the Sean McVay philosophy. We’ve seen that philosophy travel with his disciples like Liam Coen and Zac Robinson where Cade Otton last year and Kyle Pitts this year have played monster snap shares. But that philosophy has changed recently in Los Angeles.
So far this year Tyler Higbee has only played more than 70% of the snaps once and over 60% twice. In the last two games he’s been sitting at 37% and 53%. And last week he also only ran 53% of the routes. That’s resulted in an uptick in the usage for Davis Allen (who actually played more snaps than Higbee last week) and rookie pass-catching tight end Terrance Ferguson.
Higbee has never really been a guy to light us up with YAC. And now, at nearly 33 years old as a part time guy, we don’t expect him to come out and drop a bunch of yards. I know Fred Warner is out but Tatum Bethune has stepped in admirably, flying all over the field in recent weeks. We like taking the under whenever we can because we have multiple outs - guys get benched, guys get hurt, guys just play poorly. We’re going under on Tyler Higbee’s receiving yards this week.Â
