NFL Week 6 Picks Against The Spread: Indianapolis Colts -7 (-110 at BetMGM Sportsbook)
From the sounds of it, the red-hot Indianapolis Colts might be facing off against an Arizona Cardinals team without their starting quarterback. Kyler Murray is currently considered day-to-day, but has yet to practice this week. The Cardinals are coming off one of the most embarrassing, wacky losses of recent memory, choking a game against the winless Titans last week.
Meanwhile, the Indianapolis Colts are coming off a one-sided victory against the struggling Las Vegas Raiders. They now sit at 4-1, with their only loss coming at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams in a thrilling matchup where they came up one score short.
I don't see the Colts slowing down, with both sides of their offense performing at a high level, and their defense continuing to gel under new defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo. For the Cardinals, potentially missing their starting quarterback, already down to their RB3 and 4, plus the offense already looking inconsistent at best? Last week already felt like the beginning of the end, and the Colts might be able to put the nail in the coffin. I like the Colts to once again win fairly comfortably.
NFL Week 6 Picks Against The Spread: Chicago Bears +5.5 (-124 at DraftKings Sportsbook)
This game is absolutely FULL of story lines. The first two picks of the 2024 NFL Draft are dueling yet again, the Bears are looking for revenge after their tragic loss against the Commanders last season, and Tyrique Stevenson is looking for redemption after letting up the Hail Mary that caused them to lose. This is going to be an exciting Monday Night Football game, and I am expecting a close one.
The Chicago Bears have been banged up since Week One, especially on the defensive side of the ball. They have played the majority of their games missing their top outside corner, their top nickel corner, a starting linebacker, and more. Coming out of their bye week, they are at least expecting to get star defenders Kyler Gordon and T.J. Edwards back, much-needed reinforcements to what has been a lackluster defense. One player who hasn't been lackluster, though, is Tyrique Stevenson, who has been playing very well since Jaylon Johnson was placed on IR. His assignment is looking a little easier now, as the Commanders still are not sure if they will have Terry McLaurin for this matchup.
Outside of McLaurin, the Commanders just saw the return of Jayden Daniels to the lineup last week, who looked pretty good coming off a knee injury. He might need to do more with his legs this week, though, as I am expecting the Bears' pass defense to look sharper with Gordon's return, likely lined up against Deebo Samuel in the slot.
Last year, this game came down to the wire, and I think that will be the case once again. I think the Bears are going to force this game to be won through the air, which will allow them to keep up far more easily. I see this being a three-point game either way, so getting the +5.5 from DraftKings is ideal, but I could certainly see the Bears pulling off the upset this time around.
