Colts vs. Titans Predictions for NFL Week 3, Sunday 9/21

Just like every fan had on their NFL bingo card ahead of the start of the season, the pairing of Daniel Jones and the Colts has made league history. Let’s clarify that - in a positive way. Say what you will about the former New York Giant, but at the end of the day, Indy is the first team in NFL history to not punt through their first two games of the season.

They have now scored on 14 of their 17 drives this year, with the other three going for two turnovers and an end-of-half drive. They’ll now try and continue that amazing stretch in their first divisional game of the season.

Tennessee has a new QB of its own with rookie Cam Ward, who everyone is talking about regarding his impressive cross-body TD throw this past Sunday, albeit in a home loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Will he be able to finally get his first NFL win? That’s what our Colts vs. Titans predictions are here to help answer.

Colts vs. Titans Best Bet: Daniel Jones Under 210.5 Passing Yards (-115 at DraftKings)

The Colts vs. Titans odds for Week 3 would suggest that won’t be the case, as Indy is listed as a decently clear favorite. However, with that point spread hovering around a very key number of three, we’re going to look elsewhere.

If you’re insistent on sticking with the standard markets, then we’d have to point out that the Colts have not only beaten the Titans in four straight meetings, but also covered the spread in each one of those matchups! For what it’s worth, the over/under is 2-2 in those meetings as well.

As tempting as that point spread trend may be, we are still preferring a player prop for the focus of our Colts vs. Titans predictions. That player would be one that we hyped up earlier - new Indy Daniel Jones.

We are certainly not saying that he doesn’t deserve his praise, but after last week’s stat-padding, crazy back-and-forth game against the Denver Broncos, the line has simply gotten too inflated. For perspective, Daniel Jones has had his passing line under 200 yards more often than not.

Speaking of which, the Titans played that same Broncos team in Week 1, holding Bo Nix to just 176 passing yards. That continued what we saw from them last year, which was the NFL’s BEST passing defense in terms of both yards allowed per game and interceptions.

We know that is surprising from a team that went 3-14, but that’s the case. Not that this is a primary factor, given the different team, but in his lone game against Tennessee, Jones threw for just 188 yards. Even if Indy does get the win, we’ve got Daniel Jones under 210.5 passing yards (-115 at DraftKings) as the best bet from our Colts vs. Titans predictions.
