Cardinals vs. Colts Predictions, Picks & Odds: NFL Week 6, 10/12
These two teams are certainly trending in different directions. The Arizona Cardinals had a promising start to their season but have since dropped their last three. The Colts, on the other hand, have been one of the hottest teams in football so far, sitting at 4-1.
Both these teams have a lot to prove. The Cardinals want to show the league that Kyler Murry and Jonathan Gannon can lead a winning, competitive team. And the Colts and Daniel Jones are setting out to prove that their hot start is not just a fluke. At a certain point if you keep winning even the haters have to admit that you’re the real deal.Â

Cardinals vs. Colts Predictions For NFL Week 5, Sunday 1:00 PM ET
The Colts and Cardinals have only played on time over the last five years - back in 2021. The Colts won that game 22-16, bringing the all-time record between these two teams to 9-9. These are obviously very different teams from 2021 so not much to factor in when handicapping this week.
The Colts have been one of the hottest teams in football so far. They are 4-1 with their only loss coming to the Los Angeles Rams following some crucial mistakes. The Cardinals have been in every game though they’ve found themselves on the losing end of close games the last three weeks. They lost by one to the 49ers, by three to the Seahawks, then by one last week to the Titans.Â
Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray Questionable
If you are a fantasy football fan, this is a worst-case scenario. Kyler Murray is not only questionable but he’s questionable with a foot injury. Most of his fantasy value has been derived from his ability to run the ball so a pocket passing Murray might not be the most effective. That goes for the Cardinals in general as well as for the fantasy folks. They already lost not only starting running back James Conner but also backup Trey Benson so the run game could be lacking this week.Â
On defense the Cardinals have been better than they’ve been in past years. And that’s without their first round pick Walter Nolen, who has yet to appear in a game this year with a calf injury. They spent their first five picks of the 2025 NFL Draft on defense so Jonathan Gannon has finally gotten his chance to build this defense.Â
Indianapolis Colts: Hottest Team In Football
It’s really not an exageration to suggest the Indianapolis Colts are the hottest team in football right now. There’s no undefeated teams and the lone loss for the Colts came with help from a couple crucial mistakes by Adonai Mitchell (who has since been benched). Daniel Jones has had a second life so far in Indianapolis while Jonathan Taylor, Michael Pittman, and Tyler Warren are all playing at a high level. They grade out as a top six or so offense based on Pro Football Focus’s metrics as well as FTN Fantasy DVOA.Â
The Colts defense has also held up their end of the bargain so far. They’ve actually allowed the third fewest points per game of any team. They’ll be without stud nickel corner Kenny Moore once again and corner Xavien Howard abruptly retired a week ago so they are a little thin in the secondary.Â

Cardinals vs. Colts: Trey McBride Over 6.5 Receptions (-120 at BetMGM Sportsbook)
Everyone knows that Kyler Murray likes to scramble. But what some might not realize is that he’s also often among the top quarterbacks in getting the ball out of his hand quickly. Last year he was a top three QB in attempts under 2.5 seconds per Fantasy Points Data Suite. And this year he’s once again high on the list sitting at fourth. Among the QBs that are top 10 in this stat, he also has the highest completion percentage at 74.2%. And Trey McBride has a lot to do with that.
This foot injury could see Kyler Murray restricted in his movement (or it might see Jacoby Brissett start, which would be fine as well). The Colts are down two RBs and Emari Demarcado might be in the dog house after his costly mistake last week so McBride is the key option in that short area. And, with Kenny Moore out, the slot where McBride runs most of his routes is a lot more appealing. I know 6.5 is a high line for tight end receptions but this is a week where I think they need to lean on him.Â
