NFL Week 7 Picks Against The Spread: Cincinnati Bengals +2 (-110 at Fanatics Sportsbook)
With all due respect to the Baltimore Ravens as my AFC North pick heading into the season, I think the Bengals win this game. Not only are they coming off their bye week, but they are healthy, they have fewer question marks on the defensive side of the ball than they have had in years, and they also might not even be facing Lamar Jackson. Even if Jackson is able to suit up, he will not be 100%, which we got to see last season (it wasn’t too pretty).
While the Ravens still boast the talents of Derrick Henry in the backfield, whether facing Tyler Huntley or a less than 100% Lamar Jackson, he is bound to face more crowded boxes, as he did last week, limiting him to 58 yards on 17 carries against the Cleveland Browns. Since 2022, in victories against the Bengals, the Ravens have put up 24 points or more. Once again, facing one of the most potent offenses in the NFL off of their bye week, I think that would be the requirement yet again. Sitting at a 24.5 team total, I do not think the Ravens offense hits that threshold, and the Bengals get the road victory here. Cincinnati as a +2 underdog feels like a gift.
NFL Week 7 Picks Against The Spread: Green Bay Packers +3.5 (-115 at Fanatics Sportsbook)
Yes, I am doubling down on divisional games, and both are underdog picks; surely nothing will go wrong! I have been picking against the Green Bay Packers recently, and that has come back to haunt me. Their defense is finally starting to click, and the offense has been running on explosive plays that neither the Dallas Cowboys nor the Chicago Bears could stop. Now, they face off against a bottom-five defensive unit in the Detroit Lions, still down some key contributors in the secondary.
Yes, the Lions offense is equally as explosive and potentially has some more firepower at their disposal, but I think this Packers team can keep pace. Not only are they averaging 27 points per game on offense over the last two games, but they are holding opponents to 10 points per game in that same span. On top of that, the Packers might finally have a run game to provide a changeup to the offensive scheme, with Josh Jacobs returning off the Commissioner’s Exempt List. The Packers are 2-0 against the Lions both straight up and against the spread in their last two games, and with so much in their favor going into this matchup, I have no choice but to back them to keep their streak alive.
