Joe Burrow is set to miss at least three months due to needing surgery for his turf toe AND JJ McCarthy is out with a high ankle sprain, making the star-studded Bengals vs. Vikings matchup an intriguing one. Of course, that’s far from the only one, hence why we’ve analyzed each one of them to find our absolute NFL best bets for Week 3.

NFL Week 3 Predictions: Sunday, September 21st

Speaking of which, we have several significant favorites across the board this weekend, such as the Packers vs. Browns, Jets vs. Buccaneers and Saints vs. Seahawks, just to name a few. We also have other injuries impacting odds, including Jayden Daniels in Washington and Brock Purdy in San Francisco.

If you’re in search of an underdog to back this Sunday, it’s one that won’t make fans of the defending champs happy. The Philadelphia Eagles squeaked by the Kansas City Chiefs last weekend, but they haven’t exactly been dominant. Since their game against the Los Angeles Rams are part of our NFL best bets for Week 3, we’ll just leave it at: it’s an upset alert game.

Rams vs. Eagles Best Bet: Kyren Williams Anytime TD Scorer (+100 at Rebet)

All eyes were on the Eagles vs. Chiefs Super Bowl rematch last Sunday, and rightfully so. The defending champs won that matchup over Patrick Mahomes and company, but we’re going to focus on the other 2-0 team in this week’s clash for our NFL best bets for Week 3.

Matthew Stafford and company have taken down back-to-back AFC South opponents thus far this year, and this will undoubtedly be a step up in class. However, even if they don’t pul off the outright upset in Philly, there is simply too much value to pass up when it comes to the target of our NFL picks for this NFC showdown.

Rams RB Kyren Williams is a touchdown machine that we have seen come with odds of -200 or longer to find the endzone. Somehow, oddsmakers saw one game without a TD (last weekend) and have lost all faith for some reason.

Prior to that, Kyren Williams had scored nine touchdowns over the last eight games, and overall last season, scored 14 touchdowns in 16 games. That alone is reason enough to back the first of our NFL best bets for Week 3, but there’s still more! When these teams met in Week 12 of last year, Williams found the painted grass.

He “only” had 106 yards without a score in the NFC Divisional Round matchup, so we expect revenge of sorts. Therefore, we’re kicking off our NFL best bets for Week 3 with Kyren Williams to score an anytime TD (+100 at Rebet).   
 

 

 

Cowboys vs. Bears Best Bet: Caleb Williams Over 218.5 Passing Yards (-115 at Rebet)

Ok, you’ll have to wait just a little bit for the second of our NFL picks, as we’re turning our attention to a late afternoon matchup. That would be the one in Chicago with Caleb Williams and the Bears looking for their first win of the season against Jerry Jones’ Dallas Cowboys.

Speaking of Williams, the second-year QB is our target, and given what we saw from the Micah Parsons-less defense in Week 2, that should come as no surprise. Trevon Diggs and the Dallas D allowed an aging Russell Wilson to toss for a whopping 450 yards and three touchdowns - and no, it wasn’t just because of overtime.

We saw vintage Wilson in terms of throwing the deep ball, which is what he’s known for, but far from what we saw from him in Week 1; Russ threw for just 168 yards in that season opener. Look, we aren’t saying Caleb Williams has looked fantastic, but this is his time to shine.

He needs to be more accurate, that is no doubt, but with the separation these Cowboys DBs are allowing, he’s hardly even going to need to be accurate. Also, we see this line as high as 232.5 passing yards at some books, so oddsmakers don’t even know what to do with the combo of this weak Dallas defense and more-to-be-desired Williams.
