NFL Injury Report 2026 Ahead of Sunday's Week 1 Games: Rome Odunze, Jeremiyah Love
Week 1 of the NFL (and fantasy football) season will be fully upon us come Sunday, and the injuries to our fantasy football rosters are already making a major impact. Injuries are no joke, and even though a player can not be fully healthy and still show elite fantasy production, we need to be cognizant of this when setting our Week 1 lineups.
Let’s take a look at who we can, and cannot, trust in Week 1.
NFL Week 1 Injury Report: Quarterbacks
Tua Tagovailoa, Atlanta Falcons
OUT
Tua suffered an oblique injury during practice Thursday, and has been ruled OUT for their matchup against Pittsburgh. Cooper Rush will start in his place with Michael Penix Jr also listed OUT.
NFL Week 1 Injury Report: Running Backs
Jeremiyah Love, Arizona Cardinals
QUESTIONABLE
Love was limited in practice this week, but is expected to play against the Chargers. He was likely already splitting work after he was listed behind Tyler Allgeier on the depth chart, so I would expect potentially limited production.
Malik Davis, Dallas Cowboys
OUT
Davis, the Cowboys RB2, suffered a hip injury at practice Friday that is expected to take him out for a period of time. Emari Demercado will likely step into the RB2 role behind starter Javonte Williams
Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints
QUESTIONABLE
Kamara will officially be listed as QUESTIONABLE with a knee injury. He logged a full practice on Friday, which signifies him being much closer to being healthy than truly questionable. He will be splitting work with Travis Etienne regardless, so expecting production matching his previous ceiling is likely a bad endeavor regardless (save for an injury to Etienne).
Sean Tucker, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
DOUBTFUL
Tucker is dealing with a hamstring injury and is officially listed as doubtful for Tampa Bay's matchup against Cincinnati. He logged multiple limited practices this week, but the doubtful tag shows that he is unlikely to see the field. Kenneth Gainwell was brought in as the RB2 regardless, but Tucker was still stashed on many rosters and should be fully avoided.
NFL Week 1 Injury Report: Wide Receivers
Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears
QUESTIONABLE
Odunze has been limited at practice this week with a calf injury. He is currently expected to play, but given he has also been dealing with a foot issue in camp, I would expect his production to be slightly limited this week. The Bears have a crowded room anyway with Luther Burden, Colston Loveland, Cole Kmet, and D’Andre Swift, so I would pivot off Odunze if you have the option.
A.J. Brown, New England Patriots
IR
Brown already played this week, but after suffering a high ankle sprain, he was placed on Injured Reserve. He will not be eligible to return until October 18th. Stash him on your rosters and scour waivers for a replacement.
Malik Nabers, New York Giants
QUESTIONABLE
Nabers, listed as questionable, practiced in full this week, and I expect him to be active to start the season. The team may opt to play it save with him, but I don’t imagine he won’t be gunning to be active this week.
Jalen McMillan, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
DOUBTFUL
McMillan is listed as doubtful after three limited practices this week. I do not expect him to be active, and with Emeka Egbuka having no injury designation heading into the game, I expect him to operate as a true WR1. Chris Godwin or Ted Hurst may see increased work as a result of McMillan's injury, leading both to be solid bench stashes for the time being.
NFL Week 1 Injury Report: Tight Ends
Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders
OUT
Bowers had a surgical procedure on his knee this week, and will miss a couple weeks while he recovers. Michael Mayer is expected to start in his place and has shown he can be a serviceable streaming option at times.
Oscar Delp, New Orleans Saints
OUT
Delp has been dealing with a hamstring injury and did not practice this week, leading him to be listed as out. He was expected to work as the TE3 behind Juwan Johnson and Noah Fant, but this injury means he should not be on rosters at this time.
Eli Stowers, Philadelphia Eagles
QUESTIONABLE
Stowers has officially been listed as questionable as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury. Stowers was already not expected to have a major impact as he was listed as the TE3 behind Dallas Goedert and Johnny Mundt, but I would be willing to stash Stowers at this time to see how he develops.
