The fantasy football season is underway, and injuries have already reared their ugly heads. Whether on the offensive or defensive side of the ball, many stars, such as Myles Garrett, have already seen injuries ruin their campaigns. With just one game left on the slate for this week, let's take a peek at who we have to monitor in practice reports this week.

NFL Week 2 Injury Report: Quarterbacks

Tua Tagovailoa (Atlanta Falcons

Tua missed Sunday with an oblique injury, and Cooper Rush started in his place. We will monitor Tua’s practices this week, but obliques can be notoriously fickle injuries, especially from a position that rotates as heavily as the quarterback position. While Rush started last week, there is some belief that Michael Penix may be healthy enough to return in week 2.

Kyler Murray (Minnesota Vikings)

Kyler suffered a concussion in week 1 and missed the rest of the game while Carson Wentz took his place. While Kevin O’Connell was not willing to commit to anything, he did state that Kyler seemed better after the game. However, concussions can take some time for the symptoms to fully set in, so we will need to see if Kyler can clear concussion protocol in time to start next week.

Sam Darnold (Seattle Seahawks)

Darnold left his Week 1 game early with what was marked as a hip injury. He has seen 4 different medical professionals for an opinion, which suggest this may be a more severe injury than originally hoped. I’m expecting him to miss week 2, but we will keep an eye on this.

NFL Week 2 Injury Report: Running Backs

Dylan Sampson (Cleveland Browns)

Sampson suffered a knee injury in the first quarter this weekend, missing the remainder of the game. He was spotted on crutches and wearing a brace on said knee after the game. I’m expecting him to miss multiple weeks at this stage.

TreVeyon Henderson (New England Patriots)

Henderson, who missed week 1, will practice on Monday per head coach Mike Vrabel. If Henderson can get healthy in time for week 2, that would be a huge boost to the Patriots' rushing attack, which was only able to muster 62 yards out of their running back room against Seattle.

Alvin Kamara (New Orleans Saints)

Kamara was inactive in Week 1, much to the surprise of many. We will monitor his practice reports this week, but he was able to log a full practice on Friday last week. If he records multiple full practices this week, I expect him to be active this coming week.

Sean Tucker (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

Tucker was (expectedly) inactive in week 1. He will likely need to show that he can get through a week of practice before he’s active, but the team has multiple RB’s on the roster as it stands. They can afford to wait until he’s close to 100 percent, so they may take their time here.

NFL Week 2 Injury Report: Wide Receivers

Zay Flowers (Baltimore Ravens)

Flowers was having one of the best games of his career before suffering a hamstring injury that caused him to be removed from action. Flowers is currently expected to be day-to-day, but there are some in the industry who expect this to be a multi-week injury. His status will be one to monitor closely.

Alec Pierce (Indianapolis Colts)

Pierce received X-rays on his hand and wrist during the game, which came back negative. While he may be experiencing some discomfort throughout the week, which could cause him to be limited in practice, I expect him to be healthy enough to play in Week 2 at this stage.

Ladd McConkey (Los Angeles Chargers)

McConkey took a big hit and left the game with a chest/rib injury in Week 1. Jim Harbaugh had no update for us after the game, so we might be a bit in the dark on his status until practice reports come out for the team. This will be one to monitor.

A.J. Brown (New England Patriots)

As previously reported, Brown will be placed on the Injured Reserve. Teams will be without their WR1/2 as a result and will need to pivot. Without Brown in the lineup, DeMario Douglas led the team with 7 targets, and Mack Hollins led with 51 yards receiving. The Patriots will likely have to adapt their offense, which makes some of these players interesting stashes.

Omar Cooper (New York Jets)

Omar Cooper suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter of their game this past weekend. He had one catch for 30 yards prior to the injury, which shows he was on the field at least partially, but it seems unlikely at this time that he will play through this injury. I’m expecting him to be inactive in week 2, but we will have to watch the practice reports.

De'Zhaun Stribling (San Francisco 49ers)

Stribling left the game with a non-contact injury to his ankle in week 1. After consulting with doctors, he was diagnosed with a deltoid sprain of that ankle and is expected to miss at least one month as he recovers. He had no targets prior to his injury, but I expect Deebo and Mike Evans to continue to receive a majority of the WR work, with Kittle and CMC taking the remaining targets.

NFL Week 2 Injury Report: Tight Ends

Brock Bowers (Las Vegas Raiders)

Bowers was walking unassisted with just a sleeve on his leg after the Week 1 game. This points to his healing process going well, and ideally, he’ll be ready to go in Week 2. The Raiders may take their time with him, though, so monitor reports this week to gain more insight.

Eli Stowers (Philadelphia Eagles)

Stowers was placed on IR this weekend, meaning he will not be eligible to return until October at the earliest. He’s a stash/drop at most anyway, but if you have the IR space, I don’t hate stashing the young TE.

Chig Okonkwo (Washington Commanders)

Chig suffered a hamstring strain in week one and did not return to action after the injury. Despite this injury, he still led the TE room in targets and finished 3rd on the team in yards. Monitor practice reports this week as we see how this progresses, as it appears that Okonkwo was working his way to some high volume in week one prior to the injury.
