Josh Allen just got P-A-I-D!

I mean, six years $258M with $150M guaranteed is pretty good, right? I’d say so. Allen was one of the league’s best quarterbacks in 2020 and even won the Bills a division long owned by the Patriots. He was handsomely rewarded and then some. Which QB is next to get this type of deal? I’m looking at you Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield.

Everything’s Bigger in Texas, Even Their Dreams

It was reported yesterday that the Texans believe Deshaun Watson will end up wanting to play for Houston in 2021 and are no longer listening to trade offers for him. Hello? Is this thing on? Can anybody here me? Why wouldn’t Houston look to deal Watson and all his baggage? Is he one of the more talented players in the league? Sure, but if he doesn’t want to play for your franchise, maximize your return for him in a trade. Don’t do this, Houston. Don’t mess this one up.

When Will we see SaQuad?

It looks like it’ll be Week 3, but the Giants are not closing the door on Week 1 either. That’s what’s being reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport. IF Barkley, a consensus first-round pick all offseason, is to miss games, how far down our draft boards will he fall? Will he still warrant a first-round grade? I don’t think so. The Giants have already said they’re going to ease him in, so if he does in fact miss time and THEN is limited, how will he hit his ROI (return on investment)? I don’t see that being possible. I think Barkley slips back in the rankings and our draft boards until we know when he’s going to suit up.

“Nothing Major”

That’s the report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapport about Julio Jones’ leg injury. “Nothing major.” But when a player, who’s 32 years old, coming off a season in which he played just nine games and has a long list of injuries gets hurt in training camp, heads will turn. We have no reason to believe this is serious, but it’s a situation that we should monitor given the player involved.

An Update Came and Wentz

We’ll know more in two weeks, apparently, but the Colts think it’s closer to the five weeks than it is to the 12 weeks in terms of his timeline. As it stands, Jacob Eason is their starting quarterback, so yeah, they need it to be closer to the five weeks. Wentz has a long history of injuries as he’s only been able to stay fully healthy for two of his five professional seasons. Wentz’s stock, one time sitting as a QB1, has plummeted in fantasy land.

Freako Nico

I mean, we knew the kid was a freak athlete coming into the draft and we knew he had a chance to play from day one, but the report out of Texans camp that he’s getting plenty of first-team snaps in practice is a great sign. Currently, Collins ADP sits at..wait for it..280! He’s closer to WR100 than he is WR50. Collins doesn’t have the best quarterback delivering him the football in TyRod Taylor, but in bestball drafts, how do you not take a shot on the boom potential.

He’s Just one Callaway

I tried, OK? Dad jokes are my thing now. Anyways, with Michael Thomas out and now Tre’Quan Smith missing practices, Marquez Callaway is taking a firm lead as the top dog amongst the Saints receivers. Callaway saw just 27 targets during his rookie campaign, but in the four games in which he played at least 50% of the snaps, he saw four or more targets and caught three-plus passes. With Thomas out for an extended period of time, Callaway could lead the team in targets outside of presumed number one option, Alvin Kamara.
