We are down to five games on tonight’s DFS NBA slate as Raptors/Bulls has been postponed. Most of the teams on tonight’s slate are dealing with multiple impact players being out of action because of COVID. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Trae Young, Jarrett Allen, Kevin Porter Jr. and Bobby Portis are some of the players who will once again sit. Rockets/Bucks has the highest sports-book over/under on the board at 224 with Clippers/Kings behind them at 219. Here’s tonight’s DFS NBA Starting-5.
PG Jrue Holiday ( $9,600 FD / $9,400 DK / $38 Y!): Giannis Antetokounmpo is still out and the Rockets are a bottom three team at defending point guards. Holiday see’s a seven percent usage boost with Antetokounmpo off the floor bringing it up to over 31 percent overall. He’s taken 16-plus shots in his last 3 games and has hit the 20-point mark in all 3. Holiday is coming off of a 40-point performance versus the Pelicans a few days ago. The Bucks and Rockets both are top-10 in pace and Holiday has shot at least 50 percent from the field in 4 straight outings. He also grabs 4.4 boards and 1.4 steals per contest. He’s even dished eight-plus dimes in two of his last three performances and between the matchup itself and Bucks players still being in the protocol, Holiday is worth spending up on tonight.
SG Tyrese Haliburton ( $8,100 FD / $8,200 DK / $29 Y!): We have to keep riding Haliburton with De’Aaron Fox out and he’s played no fewer than 36 minutes in each of his last four games. Haliburton has posted three straight double-doubles and has dished nine or more dimes in his last four contests. He’s scored 21 or more actual points in his last 3 games and shot over 56 percent from the floor in 2 of those contests. He also grabs nearly two steals per outing and has produced three multi-steal games in his last four. The Clippers are just outside the top 10 in pace of play and the Kings are the 5th fastest team in the league so we should expect a lot of back and forth. The Clippers are middle of the road at defending guards and Paul George is going to have to shadow Harrison Barnes tonight and Haliburton will take full advantage of the Clippers guards. He’s even been pulling down 4.1 rebounds per contest.
SF: Franz Wagner ( $6,400 FD / $7,600 DK / $24 Y!): The Magic’s guard situation isn’t ideal at the moment and we’ll have to see if Cole Anthony can make his way back on the court, but, regardless, Wagner is coming off of a double-double and he’s grabbed six or more boards in four straight games. He swiped balls in three of those battles. The Magic have a mix of players hurt and in the league’s COVID protocol and the good news is that Atlanta does as well and with the Hawks mid-court still hurt, Wagner should be in line to once again see mid-30s minutes. He’s taken 14 or more shots in each of his last 4 contests. He’s scored 20 or more actual points in 3 of his last 5 games. The Hawks rank 20th in the league at defending small forwards and because the main Orlando options won’t be 100 percent even if they play, Wagner still has a safe enough floor and will once again be fed a lot of shots.
PF John Collins ( $7,400 FD / $7,300 DK / $29 Y!): Clint Capela and Trae Young are out tonight and Collins should be heavily prioritized this evening. The Magic are at the bottom of the league when it comes to defending big men and there’s no reason why Collins shouldn’t eat tonight. He’s produced back-to-back double-doubles and has played at least 33 minutes in 3 of his last 4 outings. One of those games in which he secured a double-double was against Orlando and he’s had two 20-plus point performances against Orlando so far this season. Collins has been scorching hot shooting from the floor hitting over 55 percent of his shots. Collins even shoots nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc. His usage grows over four percent with Young and Capela out of action and the Hawks are missing seven players tonight.
C: Nikola Jokic ( $11,400 FD / $12,600 DK / $56 Y!): Not only are the Thunder ranked in the bottom five at defending big men, but the Nuggets need all the help they can get scoring and Jokic has exceeded his 26.3 scoring average in 3 of his last 4 battles. Jokic has posted four triple-doubles in his last seven outings and he’s swiped multiple balls in three of his last five battles. He’s shot over 62 percent from the field in 4 straight games and he’s pulling down 13.5 rebounds per contest. The pace works in the Nuggets favor tonight and Jokic doesn’t need a lot of minutes to put up a heavy volume of production. Denver is favored by just six points and the Thunder have won their last two games so we might not be looking at a blowout for this one. It’s a huge price but he’s logged over 73 DraftKings points in 2 of his last 4 games.
