NBA DFS Showdown Slate Picks

MVP/Captain

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder

Shai is the best option at the captain spot tonight because he has the highest ceiling. He has scored at least 50 fantasy points in five of his last seven games played. This is the ultimate “revenge game narrative” for multiple players in this one but Shai has killed the Clippers in the two games he has played them this year scoring 44 and 63 fantasy points. I look for Shai to having another huge night tonight.

Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers

Kawhi is another guy with a ton of upside tonight, but he just doesn't have quite the upside that SGA has. Leonard has scored at least 49 fantasy points in four of his last five games with at least 24 game points in each of those as well. He is also playing a ton of minutes playing at least 40 minutes in two of his last five. I have no issue with going Kawhi if you like the matchup better.

Paul George, Los Angeles Clippers

I will be the first to say that I thought PG13 would lose some of his offensive production by adding Russell Westbrook. But it hasn't happened too much. He has still had some big games scoring over 50 fantasy points in three of his last 7 games. The issue with the captain's spot is that he has some inconsistencies where he can still give you a low 30s and high 20s fantasy point night. You can not have that at this spot.

Utility

Josh Giddey, Oklahoma City Thunder

Giddey has cooled off since his last triple-double scoring just 24 and 31 fantasy points. The point is, is that he can go off for a triple-double at any point, it just might be tougher with SGA in the lineup. With the upside that he possesses plus, he is still getting double-digit shot attempts most nights, I want him in my lineup.

Russell Westbrook, Los Angeles Clippers

After going through a fantasy lull for a few games, Westbrook has battled back the last few games. He has scored over 32 fantasy points in his last three games, and he hasn't shot very well. He has failed to shoot over 40% in any of his last four games. With his old team OKC in town tonight, Westbrook will do everything he can to stuff the stat sheet.

Luguentz Dort, Oklahoma City Thunder

I went with Dort instead of Jalen Williams here because of the $1,200 price difference between the two. The numbers aren't too crazy different but Williamd definitely has more offensive upside. However, Dort has recorded a steal in four of his last five games and grabbed at least four rebounds in three of his last four. Where he has excelled recently is his three-point shooting going 11-23 over his last three. He is a fine play at $7,000 tonight.

Eric Gordon, Los Angeles Clippers

Eric Gordon is very affordable tonight with a price of $5,200. He has the upside to give you 30 fantasy points any night as he did in his last game scoring 20 game points. The only issue is that he doesn't do much else than score, so he needs to do so to give you fantasy production. What you love is him playing at least 26 minutes in eight straight games, so the opportunity is there.

Dart Throws

Isaiah Joe, Oklahoma City Thunder

Joe is a little bit of a high-priced dart throw sitting at $5,000. But he is a dart throw in the sense that he could heat up from behind the three-point line and give you 30+ fantasy points similar to Eric Gordon. Joe might even have more upside than Gordon tonight. His job is to come in and light it off the bench as he has gotten up at least five points from behind the line in 10 straight games.

Jaylin Williams, Oklahoma City Thunder

Williams could return value tonight because he is going to have to play 20+ minutes to match up against both bigs for the Clippers. Outside of Wiliams the Thunder a very small, so he has a ton of upside tonight. He has scored over 20 fantasy points in three of his past five games. I expect that to happen once again tonight.
