NBA DFS Showdown Slate Picks

MVP/Captain

Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks

Trae Young is our best option at the captain spot tonight but DraftKings agrees pricing him $900 more than Paul George who is hampered by a hamstring injury. In Young's last eight games, he has scored over 50 points in five of those games including two games in the 60s. I am going with Young at my captain spot tonight.

Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers

It is so frustrating trying to trust Paul George or Kawhi Leonard. They both only played 14 and 18 minutes in a blowout, but if you played them they just killed you. I'm not sure you can trust George with that hamstring so I am leaving him off. You can play Kawhi and hope they play him for 30 minutes. Before that clunker, in the last game, Kawhi had scored over 32 fantasy points in five straight games. Kawhi is a fine play with him not on the injury report.

Dejounte Murray, Atlanta Hawks

Trae Young's running mate Dejounte Murray has been very solid recently as well. He has scored over 40 fantasy points in four of his last five games, and he is playing a ton of minutes. He has played just short of 40 minutes per game, and that is great for fantasy purposes giving him a great floor. If you do not want to play either Clipper and don't want to pay up with Trae Young, Murray is a fine candidate.

Utility

John Collins, Atlanta Hawks

Collins has had a great run here recently after struggling earlier in the season. Over his last seven games, he only scored under 33 fantasy points once. He has once again gotten back into our good gracious. I find it easy getting Young and him both in our lineups tonight, and that is exactly what you should do tonight.

Bogdan Bogdanovic, Atlanta Hawks

Bogdanovic has filled his role nicely since coming back from injury in early December. He is a great third-scorer for this Hawks team as he is averaging 17 points per game. His last game was the outlier from an otherwise great run. He has scored over 20 fantasy points in 12 straight games before that 19-point outing he just produced against the Lakers. I trust that Bogdan will be back to getting up double-digit shot attempts in this one and have another solid game.

Onyeka Okongwu, Atlanta Hawks

Okongwu has started for the injured Clint Capela recently. Over his last 10 games, he has been a viable fantasy option. He has scored over 20 fantasy points in 7 of those games including 30 games in which he scored over 40 points. His price is hefty one over 6K, but if he hits once again he could take you to the cash line

Marcus Morris Sr., Los Angeles Clippers

Morris has had two awful games in a row scoring under 18 fantasy points in each. I am not blinded by those two games. Morris had been on a tremendously consistent run before those two. He had scored over 20 fantasy points in 10 straight games. He had just a great floor until it fell out in those two games. I'm jumping back on his bandwagon tonight with his solid price.

Dart Throws

John Wall, Los Angeles Clippers

John Wall has seemingly been outplaying Reggie Jackson over the last two games and has earned more minutes because of it. Jackson is on a 2-15 shooting slump and just looks completely out of the flow of the offense. Wall has come in and played competent as he scored over 30 fantasy points in his last outing. If he continues his strong play, he could help you cash in this one.

Robert Covington, Los Angeles Clippers

Covington has come out of nowhere playing 23 and 25 minutes in the past two games. With all the wing injuries to this roster right now we could see that happen again. If Nic Batum doesn't play, and if Paul George is hampered by that hamstring once again we have a has a chance to smash at his price of $2,000. Covington is the definition of a dart throw tonight.
